In this dessert we have a more subtle, fresh flavour. Pineapple slices are simmered in a mixture of sugar and vanilla. The slices are soaked in this syrup for a couple of hours. Then the cake dough is mixed and the pieces of pineapple are put in. This is then baked and served garnished with whipped cream and slices of fresh fruit. A light and mildly flavoured delicacy.
