With the encouraging current growth rate and many sectors in India doing extremely well, managing the organisation’s human resources has become a critical issue. Specialists in the field of Human Resources are much in demand today for deploying their skills to hire, manage and retain talent in times of downturn and economic growth.
The World Competitiveness Report has rated India’s human resource capabilities as being comparatively weaker than most Asian nations. Companies today realize that world class human resource capability is pivotal to global success. This has changed the outlook of Indian corporate cultures towards Human Resource Management in recent years. Whether it is Indian firms with a global outlook, global firms seeking to adapt to the Indian context or the HRM practice in PSU’s, HR practices and managers are being seen as critical for a competitive edge.
In light of this, The Department of Human Resources and Behavioural Sciences is launching an MBA Program in Human Resources. The USP of the program lies in its design and delivery of core courses, sector specific inputs, skill building workshops and tie-up with professional forums.
Program Features
* Full time for two years comprising 41 courses across six trimesters.
* Workshop in each trimester focusing on HR trends in sectors such as Manufacturing, BFSI, Retail, IT etc and inputs on HR practices are highlighted through a series of guest sessions, project work and seminars. Seminars in this category are compulsory and non credit.
* The program includes summer internship for 8-10 weeks in which students undergo full time intensive training with industry under the guidance of a project guide and a faculty guide.
* Consulting assignments for students from different companies in the area of HR.
* Students will benefit from institutional tie ups with renowned professional HR-focused bodies.
Using a mix of experiential techniques and case-based methodology, the future HR managers would be trained on devising
HR solutions for the business challenges that corporates face today.
Program Objectives
* To provide career growth in the field of HR by developing skills and competencies required to meet the demands of organisations today.
* To train the participants in competencies such as knowledge of the business, personal credibility, functional HR expertise, and management of Change.
* To groom talented and dedicated business savvy HR specialists for sectors such as Manufacturing, Retail, IT/ITes, FMCG, Banking, Financial, Insurance and Consulting.
* To emphasise on development of the future HR specialists’ personal and social competencies to provide them with a competitive edge for devising sustainable HR solutions for the business challenges that corporates face today.
Pedagogy
The pedagogy is interactive and largely based on experiential exercises, case studies, lectures from academicians and practitioners, group activity, workshops and presentations.
All those candidates who have registered successfully will be called for NMAT, provided they satisfy the conditions of eligibility. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure whether he/she is eligible as per the eligibility criteria. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the NMAT Score, Written Test marks (as applicable), Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Presentation (as applicable), Academics and work experience. The selection will be based on merit. Decisions regarding the cut-off point for merit shall be at the sole discretion of the NMIMS. Such decisions will be final, indisputable and binding on all concerned.

Candidates applying for multiple Programs need to undergo Group Discussion/Personal Interview along with the candidates of MBA Core Program. Candidates who have applied for multiple programs namely, MBA-Actuarial, Banking, Capital Market and MBA in HR will be selected on the basis of the merit score obtained by them as well as the preferences given by them.
Placements
NMIMS has a full-fledged placement office to provide placement assistance to all full-time students. The placement office, along with elected student representatives, coordinates both summer and executive placements.
