Eligibility: (Pre-requisites) | Candidates with requisite qualifications may be drawn from any of the streams listed below: Full Time MBA or Full Time PGDM or Part Time MBA (duration of the Program in case of FT MBA & PGDM should not be less than 24 months) or notified by AIU as equivalent to MBA of an University or Masters Degree in any relevant discipline like Commerce / Economics / Statistics /Psychology / Sociology / IT / Engineering etc, or professional qualifications like CA/CS/CWA, etc Candidates appearing or awaiting for final year result are not eligible to apply. MBA through Distance or correspondence mode will not be eligible to apply. Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade B+ (as mentioned by University in Candidates must have completed PG in stipulated duration as per University/ Institution awarding degree |

The Doctoral program at SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University is designed with a view to develop original managerial thinking and academia with research and teaching aptitude. The School of Business Management offers Ph.D. in the following areas: Marketing, Human Resources and Behavioural Science, Operations, Finance, Strategy, Information Systems and Social Entrepreneurship.
The entire Ph.D. program shall approximately be of 4 to 5 years duration and shall run in III phases. Phases I & II relate to the coursework and Phase III relates to thesis work.
Duration of the program:
The maximum time for completion of the program is five years from the year of admission, after which the student has to re-register by paying the necessary fees in force at the time of re-registration. Maximum extension will be two years after re-registration.

Full time & Part Time Ph.D. Management Programme (Batch 2013)
1. Programmes : Ph. D in Management.
Specialization in Marketing, Human Resources and Behavioral Science, Operations, Finance,Strategy, Information Systems, General Management and Social Entrepreneurship.
2. Duration of the programme
The maximum time for completion of the programme is four years (for full time students) and five
years (for part time students) from the year of admission after which the student has to reregister by paying the necessary fees in force at the time of re-registration. Maximum extension will be two years After re-registration.
3. Intake: 15 seats (subject to the availability of faculty supervisors/guides.)

Note: Candidates those who have qualified in NET/SET/GATE/JRF examination of the apex bodies in higher/technical professional education such as UGC, CSIR, ICMR or other equivalent examinations (for e.g. DST/DBT) are exempted from NMIMS entrance test.
However they have to appear for Personal Interview.
5. Academic Requirements:

The Ph.D Program at NMIMS will be offered in three parts: (i) Course Work
ii) Research Component (iii) Thesis.

Selected candidates will have to undergo prescribed courses. Exam will be conducted at the end of course work and candidate has to obtain 60% in each of the courses to register for Ph.D.

Course Work will include tools & substantive knowledge.

As the screening will be done on the basis of the above information, candidates in their own interest are advised to submit full details of academic qualifications and work experience. Suitable selection process will be used to assess the candidate’s maturity and capacity to participate in the program effectively. No candidate will be permitted to join the Programme unless he/she submits the application along with SOP in time AND completes the selection process successfully.

9. NMIMS will not be responsible for non-delivery or non-receipt of dispatches sent through postal authorities or courier.
10. All disputes are to be adjudicated only under Mumbai jurisdiction.
11.NMIMS has full right to disqualify a candidate at any stage of admission process if found ineligible. The candidates opting for Full Time Ph.D will be given financial assistance as per the University rules.

The work experience certificate must contain the date of joining,
designation, date of relieving (if applicable) and the level at which the designation is covered in the organization. If the current designation or the designation at the time of leaving the organization (as applicable) is/was different than the designation at the time of joining than in such case candidate must provide the copy of the appointment letter.

Please note that trainee experience will not be considered while calculating the total work experience.

Refund Rules on cancellation of admission:

The Schedule of refund of fees will be as follows:
1. Till the date of commencement of the Programme.. |
Rs.1000/-will be deducted as administrative charges |
2. After the commencement of Programme but before the close of the admission. |
Rs.1000 + Proportionate fees i.e. one tenth of the fees for every completed month or part there of, if the seat vacated by the candidate is filled. If the seat remains vacant /unfilled no fees will be refunded. |

SOP Format
Format for preparing SOP
Title:The Title of the project should be concise (with sub-title, if any) reflecting the scope of the investigation.
Aim of the Project: The broad Aim of the project emphasizing the overall thrust of the proposed investigation should be clearly mentioned.
Statement of the Problem:The problem to be investigated should be clearly contextualized in the theoretical framework of the discipline.
Overview of Literature:The problem identified should be logically linked to other studies on the theme in the literature delineating the need for the present investigation.
Conceptual Framework: The concepts to be used, their relevance and applicability to the study and their operationalisation should be indicated.
Research Questions or Hypotheses:The research questions to be answered/ addressed need to be unequivocally stated.
Research Methodology:

Coverage: The proposal should clearly indicate the universe of the study,sampling frame, sampling methods, sampling size, units of observation etc.

Data Collection: The proposal should indicate sources of data types of data,tools and techniques for collection of various categories of proposed data.

Data Analysis: It should indicate the statistical techniques, if any, proposed to be used in data processing, specific packages for data analysis, content analysis, indices/scaling techniques proposed to be used etc.
Implications :The proposal should state whether this research would bring forth any implications for policy making either for the region concerned or the country, any methodological innovations or contribute to theory building.
References: The proposal should include a 'List of References' mentioned in the text along with other important recent additions to the literature on the theme. The references should indicate the author, title, publisher and year of publication.
