Overview, Content & Syllabus

These shells can be used as little containers for any kind of filling. They are made from a mixture of flour and butter, mixed to a smooth consistency with the gradual adding of water. This mixture is allowed to set for a while, cut into pretty shapes and then baked in an oven till golden brown. When ready, these tart shells can be filled with chopped fruits or chocolate. The contrasting colours of the golden crisp shell and the colourful fruits, makes for a very attractive dessert.

I have loved cooking from a very early age and learnt from my mother, those little secrets that are passed on from generation to generation. After marriage, I learnt a few more tips from my husband’s family, adding to my repertoire of culinary magic. My husband’s family being Gujarati opened my world to north Indian cuisine, which I’ve cherished cooking for over 25 years now!

Every dish I have made is never by blindly following a recipe. It has always been a labour of love, carefully thought out and incorporating subtle changes to enhance the taste and flavor. In all these years, I have experimented with various cuisines, Indian, of course, but also Chinese, Mexican and Italian, to name a few. Besides the main course dishes, I’ve specialized in chocolates and exotic desserts.

This venture is a culmination of delighting family and friends with interesting and delicious preparations. After much coaxing from them, I have decided to share my culinary secrets with those who see cooking as an art and wish to excel at it.
