Mexican food is a great favourite because it is spicy and flavourful. Nachos is a delicious combination of very lightly spiced tortilla chips heaped with a wonderful mixture of melted cheddar cheese, refried beans, sour cream, red sauce and guacamole. The salty cheese melts into the tangy tomato-based sauce and the spike of the sour cream, with the wholesomeness of the beans marrying the understated, buttery taste of the guacamole. This easy to prepare, wholesome dish is a sure winner! For a different twist, a combination of vegetables like jalapenos, corn and peppers could also be used as a topping. The nachos are then dusted with a little finely chopped cilantro.

I have loved cooking from a very early age and learnt from my mother, those little secrets that are passed on from generation to generation. After marriage, I learnt a few more tips from my husband’s family, adding to my repertoire of culinary magic. My husband’s family being Gujarati opened my world to north Indian cuisine, which I’ve cherished cooking for over 25 years now!
Every dish I have made is never by blindly following a recipe. It has always been a labour of love, carefully thought out and incorporating subtle changes to enhance the taste and flavor. In all these years, I have experimented with various cuisines, Indian, of course, but also Chinese, Mexican and Italian, to name a few. Besides the main course dishes, I’ve specialized in chocolates and exotic desserts.
This venture is a culmination of delighting family and friends with interesting and delicious preparations. After much coaxing from them, I have decided to share my culinary secrets with those who see cooking as an art and wish to excel at it.
