Salsa, which is Spanish for “sauce” is an essential part of Mexican cuisine. It is made with deliciously juicy, fresh tomatoes, chopped onion, lime, salt, pepper and cilantro. Essential ingredients for salsa, are jalapeno peppers and the devilishly hot, serano chilli peppers. These ingredients could be put into a blender and pureed , either raw or after the tomatoes and chillies are lightly toasted in an oven. Using the raw ingredients gives a fresh salad-like flavour to the salsa, whereas toasting the tomatoes gives the salsa a smoky interesting taste. The sweet and sour of the tomatoes , the tang of the lime and then the burst of the chilli peppers—-irresistible!

Priya's Rasoi Ghar
I have loved cooking from a very early age and learnt from my mother, those little secrets that are passed on from generation to generation. After marriage, I learnt a few more tips from my husband’s family, adding to my repertoire of culinary magic. My husband’s family being Gujarati opened my world to north Indian cuisine, which I’ve cherished cooking for over 25 years now!
Every dish I have made is never by blindly following a recipe. It has always been a labour of love, carefully thought out and incorporating subtle changes to enhance the taste and flavor. In all these years, I have experimented with various cuisines, Indian, of course, but also Chinese, Mexican and Italian, to name a few. Besides the main course dishes, I’ve specialized in chocolates and exotic desserts.
This venture is a culmination of delighting family and friends with interesting and delicious preparations. After much coaxing from them, I have decided to share my culinary secrets with those who see cooking as an art and wish to excel at it.
