Regular classes are an ideal way of Yoga education for daily practice conducted successfully at The Yoga Institute since more than 50 years.
The classes cover Asanas, Pranayamas, Kriyas, diet and Yogic lifestyle recommendations, personal attention on health and other aspects of life along with counselling.
Participants are divided into groups based on their individual health condition and separate training is given for each group. Additionally, individual attention is given to all students, as required.
If you are physically fit and want to experience yoga, then we recommend joining the 21 Days Better Living Course and then consequently continuing the regular classes for a minimum period of 3 months to experience the difference in your life.
Duration Classes are of 1 hour duration held every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
Timings: Men’s: 6.30a.m., 7.20a.m., 1.00p.m., 5.30p.m., 6.20p.m. Women’s: 6.30a.m., 7.20a.m., 8.30a.m., 9.30a.m. and 10.30a.m., 12.00 noon, 1.00p.m., 3.30p.m., 4.30p.m., 5.30p.m., 6.20p.m. On Saturday only the morning 6.30 a.m. batch is held. Participants are expected to attend for at least 4 months to cover the recommended course. They can join on any day of the month.
Prerequisites : Samattvam (health counselling) held on Saturdays at 2 p.m. is a compulsory pre-requisite even if there are no health issues.

The Yoga Institute
The Yoga Institute was founded on 25th December, 1918 by the Founder Shri Yogendraji. It found a permanent base in Santacruz, Mumbai, in 1948. Spread over one acre of land amidst nature, with three buildings dedicated to Yogic activities, this non-profit organization has been running on its own strength for 9 decades now. About 1000 persons visit the Institute every day for training, health benefits and consultations.
Our Approach To Yoga
Yoga is a way of life and not only Asanas, as opposed to popular belief. Therefore practical applications of yoga in daily life includes the simple philosophies behind the techniques of yoga that help make life worth living and living better. The techniques of yoga aim at removing the cause of the physical illness if any, after that improving the mental attributes on having a calm mind (concentrated and steady) thereby realizing one’s own spiritual self and one’s purpose in life.
With this approach, The Yoga Institute has succeeded in changing the lives and perceptions of the scores of people that have visited it over nine decades.
