Questions about Backup and Restore Data
Q. Who can backup data?
Ans: Any software user with admin privileges (software
role type: administrator) will be able to backup data
Q. Are incremental backups allowed?
Ans: No. Incremental backup of database is not allowed.
Q. How can a user backup only his data?
Ans: Incremental backup of application is not allowed.
But each user is provided a functionality by which he can
export all his data to a Microsoft Excel format using 'Manage
> Export Data as Microsoft Excel' link from inside the software.
Q. How frequently should I backup my data?
Ans: It is recommended that software users with administrator
privileges, to backup data periodically (e.g. daily/weekly/monthly,
etc.) based on your usage pattern.
Q. I have not backed up my data and my computer has crashed.
Can I recover my data?
Ans: No. If backup is not taken you will not be able
to restore your data
Q. What is Restore?
Ans: Software provides functionality to restore application
state from a previously taken backup file from inside the
application (Manage > Restore Data). It can be done only by
users with administrator privileges. It should be noted that
Restore process will remove/delete all existing data and restore
application data to the state present in backup file. Everything
including your newly added/updated records, users, profile
changes etc will be lost between date of your backup file
used and current date. This option has to be used with caution.
Q. Where should I store backup?
Ans: It is recommended that you store backups on external
USB or Hard drives to help you restore your data in case your
machine crashes.
