Screenplay is the blueprint of the film on paper. Unlike a written novel or story, it also dwells on areas of cinematic language, in addition to it’s assigned task of storytelling. The director builds on this edifice and adds his vision and creative input to it to make a film. Screenplay is the very basis/foundation on which the films are made. Needless to say, they require a meticulous blueprint to transform a story into cinema.
Film Making is a highly complex process involving large investment of money, a variety of creative skills (manpower/team) and time investment. Screenplay helps to knit all these skills and manpower together to share in one vision.
Screenplay is essentially a descriptive form of what the film is going to be – the story as well as the depiction of the story in audio-visual form. It is the detailed visualization and design of the film as perceived by the director with the help of a screenplay writer.
Writing for films and television is an art which is best learnt by voracious reading, watching films and persistent writing. It requires a mentor, an expert trainer.
There is a dearth of scriptwriters in the industry. It also means that a large number of scriptwriters are required to fill the gap, resulting in large number of work opportunities.
Our Scriptwriting Course attempts to fill this void and create a new generation of scriptwriters to enter the film and television world and infuse new ideas and approaches to story telling.
