B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

The WBUT syllabi followed by the department are very progressive and together with these, the AICTE norms/recommendations make way for complete reformation. The department, starting in 2003, makes a modern beginning this millennium with spacious labs (70-90 Sq.M.), class rooms and a sprawling workshop that covers over 1250 Sq.M. Space with Machine Shop, Welding Shop, Foundry, Forging, Carpentry, Smithy, and the list grows. The Labs are planned to provide state-of-the-art facilities with machine and equipments that pertain to our updated curricula; Labs for Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Power, Engineering Graphics, Strength of Materials, CAD/CAM, Machine Dynamics, Robotics/CNC, Material Testing Lab are all passing through a brisk process of development.

The Mission of Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering program is to prepare the students for direct employment in various industries and or pursuing of higher studies in the subject and more importantly research activities in the various wings of Mechanical Engineering by imparting them education using modern teaching aids, method and technology, in fundamental concept of basic Physics and Mathematics, in depth knowledge of the subject, workshop and laboratory experiments, CAD/CAM activities and skill through a carefully developed structured and continuously updated curriculum in close interaction with the industries by a team of highly experienced, dedicated faculties. In the process the students with gather tolerance and ability for team work, leadership qualities and moral values to serve the community and the society at large by developing international eyesight.

* Fee Structure is subject to change from time to time as per Govt. decision.

* Seat Rent, Mess Charge and Other Amenities are also subject to change but will remain fixed for a two semester period.

time of admission.

# The entire above amount of Rs. 84,100=00 plus fee for Dress Kit with hostel and Rs. 58,600=00 plus

fee for Dress Kit without hostel has to be paid at the time of admission by Demand Draft favouring

“Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur”. on any nationalized Bank payable at Durgapur.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur, popularly known as BCREC, was set up on 21st August, 2000, under the over all management of Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College Society. Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur was affiliated to the University of Burdwan for the students admitted in 2000-01 session. But from 2001-2002 session onwards the college was affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
