Overview, Content & Syllabus

Tai-Chi is a term borrowed from Taoism, the principal philosophy and religion of China which literally means the supreme ultimate.

Tai-Chi is in essence, an application of the Taoist principles of martial arts.

Tai-Chi Chuan is an ancient form of slow, graceful and rhythmic exercise which originated in China, where it is extremely popular, often performed in public parks in the fresh morning air.

It has its roots in Taoist philosophy. The movements of the tai-chi gently tone and strengthen the organs and muscles, improves circulation and posture and relaxes both mind and body. Its name decodes as “supreme ultimate fist”, but this is not true. It means to “strengthen within softness”, “poetry in motion” and “moving harmony”. All come close to express the spirit of tai-chi.

Tai-Chi has been variously described as a system of health, medicine, physical co-ordination, relaxation, self defence and elevation of consciousness, as well as means of exercise and self development. It teaches patience and relaxation, and fosters an understanding of the co- ordination of mind, body and spirit. It is the perfect antidote to the stress and strain of today’s modern lifestyles.

Welcome to ‘The Life Institute of Tai-Chi Martial Arts and Healing Research Center.’ Our art ‘The Hua Chuan, Kung Fu, Wu Shu’ has made its presence known in Mumbai for the last 28 years, over 10,000 students have been trained by the Institute in highly advanced martial arts based on the syllabus of Hua Chuan , Kung Fu , Wu Shu and the principals of Tai- Chi .

With great pride and elation we pronounce that our students have participated in competitions at school level, district level, state and national level and have bagged many laurels in various age and weight categories.

The focus of the institute is ‘The all round training in physical, mental and spiritual development’ of the students based on the syllabus of Hua Chuan , Kung fu , Wushu and Tai-chi .
