Hapkido is a dynamic and uniquely comprehensive Korean martial art that is gaining a huge following around the world as a complete, and incredibly practical, self-defence system... This is because Hapkido techniques do not require size or strength and, in conflict situations, they allow us to gain complete control with minimal effort and without aggression or injuries to the attacker. The vast array of techniques equip the student to defend in all situations, and against the full array of possible holds, grabs, strikes, kicks and weapon attacks. The art of Hapkido has the most varied types of techniques and it offers extensive training in all disciplines - including correct breathing, energy accumulation and meditation techniques, kicking and striking techniques, pressure point and joint manipulation techniques, throwing and takedown techniques, submissions (pain compliance techniques), traditional and environmental weaponry (including the long staff, sword, cane, fan, short staff, middle staff, belt and rope), and falling techniques that are vital for self-protection in real-life situations. Hapkido is recognised as the art that introduced dynamic kicking into martial arts and action movies. Hapkido techniques are also very popular with many of the leading stars, including Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Angela Mao. In Korea, the art of Taekwondo is taught to children. Then, when they are sufficiently mature, they are allowed to progress to learning Hapkido. Hapkido is very popular in Korea and the Korea Hapkido Federation co-operates with, and is sponsored by, Korea’s largest telecommunications company KT (Korean Telecom). Training in Hapkido has benefited many people, from all walks of life all over the world, in leading a healthy life and pursuing their goals - including professional athletes, sports teams, and an Olympic Gold Medallist. Hapkido is a high-level martial art and its complete accessibility to the general public is actually quite a modern development. Previous to this, Hapkido training was only mainly open to people who held, or were in the pursuit of holding, a special security position – for example in the Police, Military or State Bodyguard Service. Indeed, Hapkido has been in popular demand by police and security forces around the world... It has been taught in the USA’s White House, and to the bodyguards of the Prime Minister of South Vietnam, as well as to the Crown Prince of Bahrain and his bodyguards. In addition, it has been taught to American and Korean Law Enforcement, Air, Military, and Special Forces, as well as to the RAID Special Police Force in France, the Singapore Police Academy, and the UK’s Durham Constabulary. Hapkido is recognised and accepted by all Korean Police, and the Korea Hapkido Federation teaches the Trainee Police at Kyung Chal Dae Hak (the Korean Police Academy). Hapkido is also still taught in the Bodyguard Department of Cheong Wa Dae (the Korean Presidential Office) and a Korea Hapkido Federation certificate of training is required to gain position within Korea’s Special Police Force, Special Military Forces, or as a Private Security Guard to the President himself.

Academy Of Combined Martial Arts (ACMA)
Academy of Combined Martial Arts (ACMA), formerly known as Academy of Taekwondo, was founded in 1979 by Mr. Shaikh Mohammed Sardar. During these over three decades, ACMA has produced numerous black belts, state and national champions. Many of the training seminars were organized by ACMA in which foreign coaches were invited to teach the local martial artists. This helped them a lot in improving their standard to the international levels.
In past at various occasions, ACMA invited Grandmaster Sung Soo Lee who is considered as one of the best Taekwondo / Hapkido teachers in the world. His presence acted as boost to all the students in India as the masters of his calibre are very few in the world.
Presently ACMA is engaged in teaching various martial arts like, Taekwondo, Hapkido, Muay Thai, Kickboxing and Spochan.
ACMA provides an opportunity for all its members to grow and achieve their personal goals, whether it be through Hapkido, Taekwondo, Personal Training, Muaythai, or Performance Coaching. One of the really satisfying events since ACMA’s inception has been seeing how many past members have tracked us down and rejoined the family, in fact we often had old members get back into training who last trained when they were in primary school, and now completing their final year at University! So if you’re our past Taekwondo and Hapkido member who is keen to give it another try, please call us and check out all that ACMA has to offer, we’d love to hear from you!
Finally, we're very proud to operate Mumbai’s one of the oldest martial arts academy to provide you the ways of gaining health, and fitness through martial arts.
