Love those edible topper cakes but found it too daunting to try and create on your own? The thought can be quite intimidating if you don’t know how. The CCDS Modelling Workshops are designed to teach you how to do just that.
This class is ideal for those who want to create toppers as part of their cake decoration design. You will learn the essential properties of icings, how to cover a cake with fondant and then, the focus of this class - create tiny figurines and create the perfect landscape or backdrop for them.
Modelling is not as intricate if you have the right techniques and know what works best. Playing with different simple themes, creating adorable figurines can be a fun and enjoyable experience. These easy to do figurines or toppers are good for whole cakes as well as cupcakes
Some of the Modelling Workshops being offered currently are:
Farm Animals Cake Workshop: Based on a “farmyard theme”, you will be guided step-by-step, to hand mold sheep, cows, pigs and more! You will them complete the theme by designing a farm environment.
Fashionista Cake Workshop : We will start with modelling a young girl and then you will learn to make adorable hats, handbags, cell phones for a perfect Ladies' Day Out Themed toppers for cupcakes and cakes! Great for Mother's Day or for your girlfriends or daughters! Putting it all together for a fashionable look.
Baby Shower Cake Workshop: Learn to model a baby so sweet that no one will want to eat! Complete the soothing pastel coloured cake with baby accessories like booties, bibs, blankets and milk bottles for an adorable look.

Culinary & Cake Decorating School
At CCDS we are focused on developing the students’ relationship with food. We offer hands-on cooking and cake decorating classes designed to tempt your palate while increasing your knowledge and appreciation of the culinary arts. Our aim is to provide a wide range of technical skills while also developing your own individual creative expression.
Each of our cooking sessions with a qualified instructor includes a full sampling of all dishes prepared, course specific handouts and lots of relevant information that is most current. All materials and equipment (other than tools for cake decorating courses) are provided to complete each session successfully.
CCDS has trained several thousands of food enthusiasts since 1995 and we are very proud to be the only specialized cake decorating school in the country. Cake Decorating is not a subject matter for our instructors, it is their life. We are passionate about teaching you the tricks of the trade so that you can make designer cakes like the pros.
