The course seeks to produce trained personnel who can manage and maintain the technical infrastructure required for media production and transmission. The course objective is to teach working principles and operational aspects of various technical systems employed in content acquisition, production and transmission in Radio and TV broadcasting. The teaching pedagogy involves a mix of theoretical inputs and hands-on training in real working environment at in house production facilities, visits and internship at Radio and TV broadcasting stations. After the completion of the course, students find employment as media professional with broadcasters, media production houses, system integrators, educational institutes and in various other sectors of the media industry. BECIL (a Govt. of India undertaking) awards few scholarships of Rs.24,000/- each to the meritorious students, belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH categories, studying in this course.
Course Inputs:
The curriculum is designed to give equal emphasis on theory and practical training. The following papers are part of the course.
Paper-I : Introduction to Media and Broadcasting
Paper-I : Basic Electronics
Paper-III : Radio production system and technology
Paper IV : Television production system and technology
Paper V : Computer networking concepts and broadcast automation
Paper VI : Radio and Television transmission
Project work
Note: Evaluation, award of Grades, Cumulative Grade Point Average etc, will be as per The Ordinance 15 -A (XV-A) of Jamia Millia Islamia University. However, attendance rules will be as per the decision of Board Of studies of AJK MCRC which has stipulated that 75% attendance will be mandatory for all students.
To be eligible to appear in the final exams students will be required to attend a minimum of 75% of all the classes and practical. Any student not fulfilling this condition will not be allowed to appear in the final examination and will be subject to the existing rules and regulations of AJK MCRC.

Written Exam: 170 marks
Interview: 30 marks
