It is a hospital-based, clinical pharmacy course, which incorporates patient oriented practices in the syllabus. The course trains the students to develop clinical, laboratory and analytical skills beneficial in the management of patient-centred practices. In recent years, there is a paradigm shift in clinical pharmacy from dispensing and trading of drugs to patient management resulting in better quality of healthcare. The students can select their career opportunities in various areas of clinical pharmacy namely hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, drug related research in the hospital environment and patient-centred health practices.

Duration
The course is for two years; the first year consisting of three trimesters includes classroom theory, practical and hospital rounds and second year consists of hospital rounds and research work on clinical projects and submission of dissertation for the award of degree.

20 seats*
*15 percent seats reserved for Management Quota.
Attendance
A student is expected to attend all classes. However, a student must put in 80% of total attendance for each subject, in the absence of which he/she will not be eligible to write the exam for that subject/submit the dissertation as the case may be. A student is required to monitor his/her own attendance and no separate notice will be displayed.
In case of genuine medical/professional/other reasons resulting in shortage of attendance, the student is encouraged to attend classes the following year as per the rules of re-registration and re-examination of NMIMS. Absence beyond 20% will not be condoned for any reason whatsoever.

Candidates will be admitted to the above mentioned program through the NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT-P). The Admission Test and Personal Interview will be conducted only at Mumbai Centre. The admission Test will comprise objective type questions based on sections: Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis and English Proficiency.
Duration of the personal interview is 10-12 minutes. Candidates will be assessed based on achievements/career orientation, professional knowledge/skills, commitment to the course, learning orientation/perseverance and soft skills.
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of information provided in the application form, categorised as academic/professional work experience, marks obtained in the written test and personal interview.
Merit list of successful candidates for Stage II as well as the final merit list will be displayed on the NMIMS website and on the Institute’s Notice Board.

SPPSPTM has a placement cell. It assists students by providing a platform to enter various hospitals and related health care organisations. We facilitate the placement activities. Generally, the placement cell, along with student representatives co-ordinate both, training in the hospital, community pharmacy, health care areas and final placements.

Eligibility for the program is B.Pharm. with 55% and a valid GPAT score. Industry-sponsored candidate would be preferred. Candidates without GPAT score will also be considered if seats remain vacant.
Registration as a Pharmacist is compulsory.
2. What is the admission procedure for the course?
Candidates will be admitted to the program through the NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT-P) followed by a personal interview.

We do have a placement cell. It gives a platform to students to enter into various Pharma industries. However we don’t work as a commercial placement office. We facilitate placement activities.
10. What is the duration of course for M. Pharm. (Clinical Pharmacy)–Full Time course?
Duration of the course for M. Pharm. (Clinical Pharmacy)–Full Time is two years.
11. What is the process for cancellation of admission?
The candidate should submit a written request for cancellation of admission and submit it to the Deputy Registrar (Admissions) along with the original fee receipt. The fees refund will be as per the norms laid down by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), from time to time.
12. Which official statutory bodies have approved these courses?
It is not a pre-requisite for an institution notified as a ‘Deemed-to-be University’ to obtain the approval of the AICTE, to start any program in technical or management education leading to an award, including degrees in disciplines covered under the AICTE Act, 1987. However, institutions notified as ‘Deemed-to-be University’ are required to ensure the maintenance of the minimum standards prescribed by the AICTE for various courses that come under the jurisdiction of the said Council. It is expected that the institutions notified as ‘Deemed-to-be University’ maintain their standards of education higher than the minimum prescribed by the AICTE.

Hostel for Girls: NMIMS has a well furnished hostel for girls (limited seats) by the name of MKM Sanghavi Girls’ Hostel, which is located close to the University. Along with this a few residential flats are also available for accommodation.
Hostel for Boys: Limited seats are available at G. R. Jani Boys Hostels, which is 1/2 km away from the NMIMS campus. In addition to this, few residential flats are also available for accommodation.

Being a residential campus, the hostel at our campus is well furnished and fully equipped with all the necessary requirements for students.
