(Pre-requisites)

Minimum Qualification for the AME course is 10+2 with 50% aggregate in Physics and Mathematics or Diploma certified recognized by AICTE or any certificate acceptable to DGCA as equivalent diploma in mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering with minimum 50% aggregate or Higher Degree in Science (B Sc/M Sc) No physical disability.

Overview, Content & Syllabus

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Mechanical Stream (rotary wing) is related with Rotary Aircraft(RA), Piston engine(CP) & Jet Engine(CT). AME Course consist of theoretical & practical training. Intake capacity of student is 60 in a year.

Scope

Student should have license to work on the aircraft issued by DGCA apart from clearing BE / BTech / any technical graduation degree, He / She must acquire a license. To acquire this Basic license DGCA conduct exams. For clearing Basic license student must appear three paper (1 2,3) of Basic exam which is conducted by DGCA. By undergoing this course it is easier to clear all paper of Basic exam because We have high standards of teaching and practical training facility in our own workshop, aero plane and navigation, electrical and instrument lab for avionics training and other top quality facility. Through this Basic aircraft maintenance license (BAMEL) student can easily get job in any airlines in India & abroad.
 
Duration to obtain BAMEL after SSC
For working in the aircraft after SSC student have to wait only 3 years if student doing 3 years AME Course but if student doing BE/BTech you have to wait at least for 7 years for obtaining BAMEC.

On Job Training (OJT)
Bombay Flying Club provide an OJT to all the students in 6th semester (6 month). Now we are self sufficient in imparting the OJT to our students on our newly acquired Learjet heavy aircraft in addition to this we send our students to various Airlines to have the hands on working experience on live aircraft.

We have our own Learjet  twin engine aircraft (N24NJ). It is fully Serviceable Pressurized heavy aircraft. Student can do their OJT on this aircraft under the supervision of our supervisor/ aircraft maintenance engineer.

Procedure for admission:

  •     No Entrance Exam

  •     No Interview

  •     Admission on Merit basis only

  •     Medical certificate from MBBS Doctor

  •     Two passport size colored photograph

The Bombay Flying Club is the birth place of aviation in India since 1928.This prestigious institute has played a leading role in the history of aviation, In India.

Late Mr.J.R.D.Tata the father of aviation in India was first to obtain the pilots licence in February 1929 from The Bombay Flying Club.
The Bombay Flying Club has unique distinction of being the only flying club in the world, which under took the cross-country International flight from Bombay to Landon & back with four tiger Moths participating in it, in 1930s.

Living leged Mrs.Rabia Futehally was the first women pilot of India to obtain Private Pilot Licence from the Bombay Flying Club. Now she is member of the managing committee of this institute.

A member of this flying club R.Levy indigenously manufactured an aircraft which was named “Monsoon”. It successfully flew over 50 hours. Another Member Rev.Father Constantine was the first person to fly an illuminated aircraft at night for advertisement purpose over Bombay.

The Bombay Flying Club is based at the western end of Juhu aerodrome which is approximately at the center of the Mumbai City. The Bombay Flying Club has been built to standards of comfort and convenience which surpass other training centers and provide each student with adequate space to focus on their studies in all respect theoretical & practical. The Bombay Flying Club is renowned for its professionalism. It has trained air crew who are now working as captains & engineers for domestic & international airlines such as Indian Airlines, Air India, Sahara, Jet Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates as well as thousand of private pilot & engineers.
