Aeromodelling is the design, construction and flying of model airplanes, helicopters and rockets. This workshop is dedicated to learn the technology behind making of aircrafts. It helps and encourages the participants to solve real time problem involved in making of glider aircraft & water rocket.

Aircraft Designing (Chuck Gliders)

Model aircraft are flying or non-flying small sized replicas of existing or imaginary aircraft using a variety of materials including paper, plastic, metal, synthetic resins, wood, foam and fiberglass. The most commonly types are balsa wood, polystyrene and card stock. For our workshop we use Balsa Wood for designing of Glider Aircraft.

Chuck gliders are the most easiest to make and the best way learn about the principles of flight and aeromodelling. This Aeromodelling workshop will include a lecture on the principles of flight explained with the help of basic concepts of physics and is suitable for students of all groups.

Water Rocket with Parachute Landing

When someone mentions bottle rockets, Do you envision placing a firecracker attached to a stick into a glass bottle and launching it? A water rocket is a type of model rocket using water as its reaction mass.

Water rockets at schools help students understand the principles of aeronautics. Designing, building, flying & landing a Water Rocket provides students with a real-world application of the scientific method.

Day I: Aeromodelling & Aircraft Designing

Session I: Introduction to Aeromodelling

Session II: Designing & Construction of Chuck Glider

• Getting your Hand dirty

• Construction of Chuck Glider from the Pre Cut Balsa Wood.

• Sanding & Smoothing the Wings.

• Experimenting flying techniques.

Session III: Flying the Chuck Glider

Day II: Water Rocket with Parachute Landing

Session IV: Introduction to Water Rocket

• At the end of the workshop a small competition will be organized & winning team will get the certification of excellence

· At the end of this workshop, a small competition will be organized among the participating students and winners will be awarded with a 'Certificate of Excellence'.

Duration: The duration of this workshop will be two consecutive days, with 5 -6 hours session each day in a total of 10 -12 Hours.
