Our History
The Institute of Business and Retail Management (IBRM) is one of the top autonomous institute in India, was founded to impart education by means of Distance Education, provide higher educationopportunities particularly to the working class professionals as well as disadvantaged segments of society, to encourage, coordinate and set standards for distance education in India and strengthen the human resources of India through education.
The Institute of Business and Retail Management (IBRM), since its establishment, has contributed significantly to the development of higher education in the country through the distance mode. The Institute follows a learner-centric approach and has successfully adopted a policy of openness and flexibility in terms of relaxed entry qualifications, period required for completion of a programme and place of study.
The Institute at present offers many programmes from diploma to Doctorate level of study. These programmes are offered in widely diverse areas and at different levels covering Certificate Master’s Programs, Postgraduate and Undergraduate diplomas and certificates. The education is disseminated in areas such as Marketing, finance, Human Resource, Consumer Behaviour, Project Management, Information Technology in Management, Retail studies etc….
Dedicated faculties, trained in distance education methodology, is responsible for planning, designing, and developing academic programmes. IBRM involves number of senior teachers and experts from premier institutions in the country as content experts for its course material development.
The Institute is prompt in promotion, coordination and maintenance of standards in distance education through continuous assessment and accreditation of the UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services). i.e. ISO 9001 : 2008.
