Anyone can draw!! That being the foundation, the course is designed to help those pursuing careers in the industries of 2D/3D animation, web-design and fashion design and film and television media.
The sessions will consist of instructions, practical workshops, and audio visual content comprising of short films and documentaries on subjects relevant to media arts. At the end of the course, a candidate with little or no understanding of drawing principles and color and compositional sensibilities will have achieved a strong base from which he/she can then proceed with confidence into the fields of applied arts. This course is also particularly unique for working professionals as it will help hone their skills and equip them with a fresh perspective to their craft by sharpening their senses and observational abilities.

Course Content
1. Elementary shapes – circle, triangle, square (drawing them free hand), adding and deducting shapes from shapes.
2. Concepts of shape and form – evolving 3D and 2D drawings (forms and shapes).
3. Creating funny shapes out of unpredictable shapes – like what we do to entertain children (random exercise).
4. Human figure – basic structure (exercise with Zoo-Zoos). -exercises with faces.
5. Our limbs – hands and feet – how the fingers operate (all from simplified drawings and cartoons).
6. Body bending – walking (clearing perceptions like: ‘right hand and left foot move together’, ‘head and toe together help us to balance the moving act’ etc)
7.The male, female and child – (torso and lower part ratios, ratio of their heads to their body).
8.The costume – (not much in detail) – sense of draping.
9. The still life – object studies (paper box and coiled paper strip study) in line and tone. – learning to see things in blocks.
10. Studying fruits and vegetables (as much simple as possible).
11.Structure of a leaf and a tree (the secret of inbuilt patterns of growth).
12. Studying the bark of a matured tree (from a good photograph) – the stone and water surface – the surface of a synthetic jacket and a jeans – Understanding specific textures.
13. TYPOGRAPHY
14. Space on a flat surface – using space for composing a scene – negative and positive space – basic principles of design (not much theoretical) – the virtual space.
15. The critique – how to read a picture – interpreting visual message – (referring the treasures of art)
