Cello is an important part of the string quarter and serves as a tenor range string instrument in an orchestra. Cello is a big instrument and is played in sitting position with the instrument resting on the floor with the help of a "Needle". Cello has a deep rich sound and many composers have written works for solo cello (often accompanied by the piano).
