Advertising in the conventional sense, is communication of information about the products and services which a business enterprise or an individual wants to market.
Mass communication involves the mass production and dissemination of messages by organization managed by the professionals trained to use print and electronic technologies for the rapid transmission of these messages to a large, heterogeneous and anonymous mass of people.
Advertising involves the advertiser, the advertising agencies and the mass media. Advertising and mass media depend heavily on each other and in other words these two are inseparable. There is indeed a complex relationship among the advertising agencies, the mass media owners and the media users i.e. the readers, the listeners and the viewers. This is to be carefully studied and understood. The modern day advertising agencies do far more than just advertising for their clients. They have to create and implement campaigns across a wide range of communication disciplines such as public relations and market research etc.
In the changing economic and technological environment of liberalization and globalization; advertising, the advertising agencies and the mass media too are progressively becoming global and a part of the digital electronic world. The bulk of advertising messages now appear in the electronic media i.e. radio, television and the internet. However, technologies are just aids to the creation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of purely human messages. And, advertisements will continue to be made on human needs, wants and aspirations for the people by the people.
Graduates of a recognized university who may be interested in learning the art and craft of advertising using the print and electronic technologies are welcome to enroll in one year Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising & Mass Communication of Asian Academy of Film & Television.

AAFT (Asian Academy of Film & Television)
We have always believed that a film school should take a holistic and realistic approach in its teaching. By holistic we mean that film school training should not be limited to only classrooms and lectures on theories and techniques. Therefore, at AAFT we have adopted a comprehensive training method with equal importance on the practical training of film making and acting.
Believing that training and skill building are quite essential in the field of visual media, Asian Academy of Film & TV, has been imparting education and training in the art & craft of film making in television presentation since 1993.
The academy was planned as an alternative to formal film schools and has since come a long way making a unique place for itself amongst the best global centers of education of its kind. Growing to be certified as the first ISO 9001:2000 film school in this part of the world in less than a decade since its inception, the Academy was also approved as an international level training center by the 125 year old City & Guilds of the United Kingdom in the year 2002.
Students with varied background, experience and culture are selected for admission to the academy for their talent and enthusiasm. Although students spend most of their time on the projects, the education and training imparted at AAFT is more than just a craft model.
Education and training for various courses are provided by expert media practitioners supplemented by visiting guest lecturers who are leading exponents of their specialized skills in the practical craft of film & television production.
The Academy has also done pioneering work of generating training a world class material in the form of books and video recordings on the various techniques of film and television production both for the benefit of its students and the practicing film and television professionals. The Documentation Center of the academy has produced a number of books on the art & screen presentation.
The academy is affiliated to the International Film & Television Research Center which aims at raising professional standards of films and television presentations. Film and Television personalities from all over the world are often the guest of the Research Center. AAFT is also affiliated to International Film & Television club.
Festivals of Israel, Japanese, Croatian, Norwegian and Russian films have already been organized by the Club in the past. Students of the academy greatly benefit from the activities of both these organizations.
