According to industry reports, the Indian healthcare industry has grown to become one of the most promising and progressive sectors in recent times. The healthcare market with its affiliated services and markets comprises of Health Service Provider Organizations (hospitals) Health Insurance & Managed Care, Medical Equipment & Devices, Pharmaceuticals & Lifesciences, Health Support Services and many others.
Weschool's PGDM Healthcare Management is a uniquely designed program where a confluence of professionals from diverse educational backgrounds - including doctors (Medical/AYUSH/, Dental) nursing, physiotherapists, biomedical engineering, pharmaceuticals, life-sciences and non-medical streams; come together, all aspiring towards the fulfillment of one universal goal, "HEALTH FOR ALL."
This specialized AICTE-approved two-year full-time program combines disciplines of Business Management, Health Insurance, Hospital Management and Pharmaceutical & Lifesciences Management. The aim of this program is to provide students with a knowledge base about the healthcare sector, its operating dynamics, the future challenges, global scenario, and to groom them with the requisite skills and techniques to meet the challenges and demands of this growing sector.

Over the two years, students are provided with wide exposure to different verticals within the healthcare sector based on strong foundation of general management modules spread across the first year. At the beginning of the second year, the students make a choice between the two sectoral electives offered namely,

Hospital Management - T-shaped design in creation of generalist professionals with functional approach for healthcare service provider as well as payor organizations.

Pharmaceutical & Lifesciences Management - Domain specialization
The course content has been designed to provide knowledge of business management in general and healthcare / pharmaceutical & lifesciences management with a special focus to include the latest and emergent business concepts. The learning process is in the form of classroom learning, experiential learning, group work & assignments, case studies, quizzes, role plays, workshops, with hands-on learning through industry-institution interaction & field visits. This is strongly supported with summer internship and master dissertation project work in identified verticals as per the student's choice and specialization across the sector to include hospitals, public health organizations, NGO, insurance companies, IT, pharmaceutical organizations, etc. The industry project under master dissertation study will be instrumental in determining the candidate's future career path in the industry.
The curriculum design offers ample scope for orientation to the various verticals studied, understanding the challenges specific to the sector that will enable students to come up with innovative workable solutions.
The ultimate goal through this program is to train and mould the young mind to become a responsible leader with the best managerial skills imbibing the importance of culture, values & ethics, and modernism to meet the future challenges at a global level.
On successful completion of the program, besides a career in the healthcare, this program also provides a platform with a solid foundation for employment in any industry which has an interface with the healthcare sector. Such qualified and trained talent is well equipped to meet the challenges of industry verticals such as hospitals, public health services, consultants, insurance companies, pharmaceutical and lifesciences companies, IT companies, and many others.
