Introduction

The Chinese language is a language or language family consisting of varieties which are mutually intelligible to varying degrees. Originally the indigenous languages spoken by the Han Chinese in China, it forms one of the branches of Sino-Tibetan family of languages. About one-fifth of the world's population, or over one billion people, speak some variety of Chinese as their native language.

Internal divisions of Chinese are usually perceived by their native speakers as dialects of a single Chinese language, rather than separate languages, although this identification is considered inappropriate by some linguists and sinologists.

Course Content

The Chinese Language course Level 1 is meant for beginners who have no background of the language. The course will be taught by Subject Experts using prescribed texts in a direct and interactive method.
The syllabus has been designed to promote interactivity in the student, which is the basic building block of learning a new language.   • Common Phrases, Possessive Pronouns.

  • Numbers, Time, Writing Dates, Days, Months & Seasons

  • Subject Pronouns, Conjugation of "To Be".

  • Descriptive Adjectives, Placement of Adjectives

  • Common Occupations, Formation of Adverbs

  • Prepositions, Conjunctions, Countries & Nationalities

  • Demonstrative Pronouns & Adjectives.

  • Present Tense, Future Tense and Past Tense of Regular Verbs

  • Making sentences negative and interrogative

  • Common Vocabulary including over 1000 words
