• Candidate must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent exam including international IB Diploma (IB certificate awarded is not eligible &
• With science or science vocational &
• Minimum 50% marks in PCM for Mumbai campus & 45% marks in PCM for Shirpur campus. &
• Those awaiting their 10+2 exam result this year may also apply.
• Candidates who have passed the 10+2 exam by doing a part-time course or through distance learning/correspondence/externally/open school are not eligible to apply for the courses.
• Candidates should present single marksheet. Candidates passed with compartment is not eligible.
The NMIMS reserves the right to alter the terms of eligibility without intimation to the applicants.
Note (for IB & Cambridge Candidate): Candidates called for admission counseling on the basis of NMAT (UG) merit list & who do not have final marksheet will be given “Provisional Admission”. Fees will be accepted from such candidate but their admission will be confirmed on submission of final marksheet if found eligible before the commencement of the program

Programme Duration

Four year Full Time B.Tech. in the following disciplines with the intake mentioned against each is offered at the Mumbai and Shirpur Campus.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course structures for various B.Tech. programs are given in subsequent pages, which are subject to review and revision by the Board of Studies in Engineering Sciences and approval of the Academic Council of the University.

TEACHING, LEARNING AND EVALUATION

In most of the subjects, there will be theory and practical classes. Time table will be for approximately 32 to 36 contact hours per week for B. Tech programs. In the Fourth year of the course approximately 40% of the time will be allotted for industry based project work for which guidance by the faculty will be available and the students will be required to make presentation of the project work.

Student is required to have minimum of 80% attendance in the classes for every subject and must complete all the term work prescribed for the subjects.

For every subject 50 marks will be assigned for continuous assessment: 5 marks for attendance, 20 marks for class Tests, 25 marks for term work containing practical work, and/or assignments and practical/oral exam. The term end exam will be assigned marks out of 50. For passing in a subject, student must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in combined total of continuous assessment and term end exam.

The credit system with flexibility is planned to allow students to learn at their own pace. The fast learners may earn more credits than minimum prescribed for the B. Tech degree and it maybe possible to register for 5 year integrated M.Tech programme if offered. The slow learners will be allowed to register subjects and continue study for more than 4 year period without any break The class will be awarded at the end of every year on the basis of total marks or Grade point Average obtained by the student subject to earning prescribed minimum credits during the year.

The class for final degree will be awarded on the basis of performance during the final year for B. Tech. Courses.

Admission Process

Online Registration Registration Online on NMIMS website & Pay registration fee of Rs 1600/- (Non refundable) by Credit Card, Cash at Axis Bank & by Demand Draft. (Please refer online registration for payment details.)

Online Test
All eligible candidates who are registered successfully & will be called for the online test, scheduled on 12th May 2013.

Call Letter / Admit Card
1. On the basis of information indicted in the Application Form, your call letter/ admit card for the Admission Test & the venue (School/College) at each centre will be communicated to the candidate as per important dates through the website.

2. Please check important dates put on the website.

3.You are required to download the call letter/admit card from our NMIMS website

4. No candidate, without call letter/admit card or without the photograph on the call letter/admit card will be permitted to appear for the test.

5. No separate call letter will be mailed/posted.

6. Candidate must carry requisite ID proof while appearing for NMAT(UG) 2013.

Selection Process
1. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidate in NMAT(UG) 2013.

2. Candidates will be called for counseling session at Mumbai based on the merit list.

3. In the counseling session candidates will be given admission to various disciplines as per their merit, choice and availability of discipline as per eligibility criteria.

4. The decision of the institute will be final in this regard and no inquiries or correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Selection Process:

Upgradation Process:

  • On cancellation the vacant seat will be offered to next eligible candidate as per merit and preference.

  • Candidate has to confirm the offer in writing within 24 hrs. If accepted, gets transferred to that specialization. If rejected, not eligible for further up gradation and remains in the same admitted specialization

Merit Tie: Determination of merit in case of tie.

If two or more candidates secure equal number of marks in Diploma / 1st year engineering, their relative merit will be decided as per following order:

  • Candidate securing higher aggregate Percentage marks in 10th examination.

5. Refund Rules

The Schedule of refund of fees will be as follows:

1. Till the date of commencement of the Program.

Rs.1000/- will be deducted as administrative charges

 

2. After the commencement of Program but before the close of the admission.

Rs.1000 + Proportionate fees i.e. one tenth of the fees for every completed month or part thereof, if the seat vacated by the candidate is filled. If the seat remains vacant /unfilled no fees will be refunded.

 

3. Cancellation after the official closure of admission

Cancellation made after the official closing of admission no fees will be refunded.

 

6. Important Instructions

  • Please see the important dates and preserve it as a guide. All announcements from the Institute will be through its NMIMS website.

  • All disputes under Mumbai jurisdiction only.

  • Please check eligibility criteria before applying for the course.

  • If at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria or the information furnished by him/her in the application form is incorrect, his/her admission to the course, even if selected, will stand cancelled.

  • Branch transfer will be within campus after commencement of program

  • Candidate’s application form will not be considered if the above mentioned documents are not received till 8th July 2013.Institute will not be responsible for non-delivery or non-receipt of Demand Draft sent through postal authorities or courier.
