This course also covers Basic Photography. The course is well designed to give emphasis on commercial photography and digital photography. Students are trained to know various lighting and advanced exposure techniques. It consists of many practical sessions of which are based on commercial product advertising (Table Top) photography, and practical sessions on modeling, outdoor shooting under daylight and available light during night etc. Many of these practical sessions are done on a professional Digital Camera. No other institute conducts such course, at such reasonable cost, which is noteworthy. After completing the course the candidates get comprehensive knowledge of commercial photography, model lighting, and digital photography.

A student can do a photo-session indoors/outdoors in modelling.

Can cover product shots/Table Tops for commercial advertising.

Get comprehensive knowledge of Digital Photography and Digital Camera as the practical sessions are conducted on digital camera.

Know how to shoot night scenes, street scenes and flood lit buildings during night in available light.
The entire syllabus of Basic Photography plus the following
Theory
1. The nature of light and color
Nature of light.Spectrum of light.Colors and their characteristics, attributes, color synthesis and color vision.
2. Advance exposure techniques
Understanding exposure, built-in exposure meters in SLR and their various patterns such as average, center-weighted and spot reading. Hand held external exposure meters. Exposure bracketing.Incident light reading, grey card reading, understanding of dynamic range, creating HDR.
3. Source of light and lighting
Natural light: Advantages and disadvantages of bright sun light. Controlling contrast by filling in shadows with reflectors and portable flash.Back lighting, silhouettes. Artificial light: Tungsten lighting, flash units, fluorescent lighting etc.
4. Studio lighting
Studio flash unit and its accessories such as umbrellas, soft boxes, spot grids, snoot etc. Various lighting techniques for portraiture (modeling) and tabletop,incident light reading with flash meters, Lighting ratios.
5. Introduction to Digital Photo Imaging
Digital Camera, Image recording systems, memory cards, white balance settings.
6. Introduction to Digital Photo Editing
Using different software programs like Photoshop for editing images.
7. Close up and Macro Photography
Various methods of shooting small objects, applications of close-up lenses, macro lenses.
8. Creative Aspect
Bokeh, Panorama, Light painting, multiple exposure, time lapse photography
9. Understand different file formats
RAW, TIFF, JPEG, printing resolution

Indoor

Advanced Exposure techniques: To learn Auto-exposure settings

Using White balance shift

To shoot portraits, taking meter reading from camera's built-in meter

Shooting landscapes, actions with panning & zooming techniques

Shooting portraits with outdoor model lighting, frontal lighting, back lighting, use of reflectors and flash to fill the shadows.

Shooting flowers and other small objects with macro techniques, close-up lenses, landscapes.
Outdoor - 2
Shooting flood lit buildings, street scenes, etc in available light at night, silhoutes, twilight, twilight portraits, night portraits, night landscapes using mirror lock-up.

National Institute of Photography (NIP)
National Institute of Photography (NIP, est. 1983) was founded by Late. Prof. Manohar Desai with a view of spreading the knowledge of photography among the youth, who aspire to make career in photography and others, who like to pursue it as a hobby too. NIP is a renowned, popular and trustworthy training institute in the country and has been conducting Certificate and Diploma courses for many years. NIP has trained thousands of students in photography and videography, in a systematic and methodical way, since its inception in 1983. Many of the students have pursued successful careers in photography either as a free-lancer or running their independent studios, or as a wedding & event photographer, etc.
