Overview, Content & Syllabus

Rangoli is Hindu folk art generally created on floor on special festive occasions. The origin of rangoli can be traced to puranas.( work on hindu mythology.)
Rangoli is a Sanskrit word which means row of colours. The tradition of rangoli originated in Maharashtra and slowly disseminated to other parts of India.
In ancient India rangolis were used to decorate the entrance of homes, a floor painting which provides a warm and colourful welcome to visitors.
In Indian culture all guests and visitors occupy a very special place and rangoli is an expression of this warm hospitality. In rural Maharashtra entrance is decorated with at least small rangoli every dawn. In particular Diwali festival is widely celebrated with rangolis. Thus reflecting regional beliefs and esthetics based on a comman spiritual plane the art of floor paintings is one which has survived all influences and retains and transmitted the spirit of Indian life.
Sanskruti offers you rangoli course which gives you enough practice and tips to decorate your rangoli.
