AFO MASTERSHIP IN ORTHODONTICS (MAFO)
This is awarded to AFO Fellows after 2 years of practice and course work. The Mastership degree in orthodontics will allow participants to open a chapter of AFO and become AFO certified faculty.
The concepts and implementation of this course will allow any participant to confidently start fixed orthodontics in his practice. The course covers the latest in fixed orthodontic treatment mechanics including MBT (Straight Wire) system. The course is designed in such a way that the participant can easily understand the basics and will confidently be able to incorporate fixed orthodontics in the general practice.
Dr. Ravi Kumar, the course director, has been practicing fixed orthodontics for the past 10 years. He is the Founder President of Indian Society Of Orthodontics For General Practitioners and is a keen researcher in Dentistry with a patent for his research granted by the Govt. Of India. Dr.Ravi Kumar has also published in several scientific Journals and has authored a textbook for the undergraduate dental student. He has also developed a short course interdisciplinary treatment method, using orthodontics, prosthodontics and endodontics, ideally suited for adult patients, called the Realistic Treatment Philosophy (RTP) and is presently engaged in popularizing this. AFO FELLOWSHIP IN ORTHODONTICS (FAFO)
This is the Level III course from AFO. Participants have to pass the Level II course to appear for the Fellowship course. The course can also be conducted as a continuous 10 to 15 day program where the participants are directly awarded AFO Fellowship in Orthodontics
AFO DIPLOMATE IN ORTHODONTICS (Dip. Ortho)
This is awarded to AFO Masters after 3 years of practice (after the Fellowship) and course work including Lingual cases. The Diplomates in Orthodontics will become AFO Senior Faculty

Dr.Ravi Kumar
has been practicing and teaching orthodontics for the last 12 years.
He is a keen researcher and has received Govt. Of India patent for his invention in dentistry.
He has been in the teaching profession since the last 8 years and is the founder president of Indian Society Of Orthodontics For General Practitioners (ISOGP), the only organization in India representing general practitioners with orthodontic practice.
He is also conducting short term and long term (including online) Certificate Course in Fixed Orthodontics for the general dentist based on the Realistic Treatment Philosophy (RTP) developed by him. This treatment method includes Straight Wire, Begg's, Self-Ligating Bracket and Tip-Edge techniques to deliver shortened treatment time as opposed to traditional orthodontic treatments.He is also practicing and teaching Lingual (Invisible) orthodontics. Dr.Ravi Kumar is also involved in developing a frictionless Ligation system for orthodontic brackets (Patent Pending). He has also developed the "Ravi Gauge" for accurate bracket positioning.
