Kalbelia (Rajasthan) - Indian Folk Dance Class

The dance is performed by the women of Kalbelia community. The main occupation of the community is catching snakes and trading snake venom. Hence the dance movements and the costumes bear resemblance to that of the serpents. Dancers attired in traditional black swirling skirts, sway sinuously to the plaintive notes of the 'been' - the wooden instrument of the snake charmers.

Indian folk and tribal dances are simple dances, and are performed to express joy. Folk and tribal dances are performed for every possible occasion, to celebrate the arrival of seasons, birth of a child, a wedding and festivals. The dances are extremely simple with minimum of steps or movement. The dances burst with verve and vitality. Men and women perform some dances exclusively, while in some performances men and women dance together. On most occasions, the dancers sing themselves, while being accompanied by artists on the instruments. Each form of dance has a specific costume. Most costumes are flamboyant with extensive jewels.

He moved on to his next journey of growth and expansion from there he choreographed events of many reputed colleges of punjab. He made his mind & knew his carrier is in this field only. - big dream, which he always aspired for in life sanjeev jimmy established his dance academy in 1999. He now saw Dance as a subject to heal human mind & bodies. He did a lot of research on Dance & Fitness and which helped many dancers recover from injuries. To understand the connection between Mind & Body, he started a special Dance Workout program, He started serving people with a new vision to combine Dance & Fitness and create a healthy Mind & Body connection.to motivate poor and needy children sanjeev jimmy organised a charitable show named "kuch kar dikhana hai"a mega dance reialty show.and this show become very popular among all the people.with the help of this show sanjeev jimmy give a platform for upcoming talent to show their talent.number of students of sanjeev jimmy dance academy telecasting on various tv shows.he also started a award proud of city award to them which have done an extra ordinary work in any stream.sanjeev jimmy choreographed more than 800 events.included various types of dance form.and trained more than 16,000 students. He started sharing his technical & artistic skill to many Doctors, Celebrities, Institutions & Corporates. His Vision has come true and now he sees life as bliss in the form of Dance & Dance fitness. Very few people follow their dreams and passion but Sanjeev Jimmy trusted in himself and followed his vision for this beautiful art form. This young man who means Business and who is constantly on wheels to meet his work schedules, has moulded young and not so young people of our times with true dancers. He has been professionally involved as Dance Director, Choreographer, Event organiser & Fitness Instructor since the year 1996. In 2007 Sanjeev jimmy selected for reality show of MH1 limca aja nach ley.judges sangeeta ghosh,karan mehra,rohit roy really impressed by sanjeev jimmy`s dance and concepts.but unluckily because of his bad health he illiminated from this show.but in grand finale judge sangeeta ghosh performed with sanjeev jimmy as he was the most favourite contastant of the judges.He never loose his hope.He had a spark to become a great dancer in his mind.In 2008 Sanjeev jimmy get selected for the show of ETC and ZEE Punjabi, mirinda Nach Ley Yaara.Sanjeev jimmy performed in a diffrent way in this contest and because of his variation in dance and concepts he become very popular among the judges and viewers.he got heavy voting from viewers and finally he become the winner of this contest.It was the turning point in his life.

Now, he is all set to open his Academy all over punjab training over more than 16000 students. He is specialized in training Western, Folk & Filmy Dance styles. His training workshops are held every 3 months with a special course structure from Basic to Advanced levels for kids as well as young boys and girls who want to make their carrier in this stream.Schools and Colleges training copiously in Dance Choreography, Body Fitness, Aerobics, Bhangra Workouts, Garba Workouts, Salsa Workouts, Hip-Hop Workouts, Belly Dance Workouts, Acting and overall Performing Arts. In 2009 sanjeev jimmy established own production house & event management company.as Sanjeev jimmy also presuing M.B.A degree in event management.he is working for many channels events and reality show.and in a short time sanjeev jimmy`s company make a good name in media industry.
