Bachelors in Physiotherapy (B.P.Th.) - (MUHS)

Duration: Bachelors in Physiotherapy (B.P.Th.) is 4 ½ years course affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS).

Objectives:
1) To develop overall abilities of the students.
2) To provide quality & high standard education in Physiotherapy.
3) To develop Physiotherapists well versed with all Physiotherapy Skills & confidence to treat & research on all dimensions of Physiotherapeutic knowledge.

Pedagogy:
SICOP believes more in interactive learning rather than didactic lectures. Patient Bed side teaching & Problem based learning are essential components of learning in the third & final year. SICOP offers good hands on training in treating patients having problems with their shoulder, neck, back, knee joint, paralytic patients, patients having problem in cardio-respiratory conditions.

Fee Structure:
BPTh – Fees structure for UG is INR 1,20,000/- (Rs. One Lakh Twenty Thousand Only) in first year and 1,26,000/- (Rs. One Lakh Twenty Six Thousand Only) per year for next three and half years and 63,000/- (Rs. Sixty Three Thousand Only) for internship (6 months) as per Shikshan Shulka Samiti’s Guidelines. Bank assistance is available.

Admission Calendar:
The admission program is as per MUHS guidelines. Total 50 seats available including Government & Management seats.
Admissions & Reservations as per DMER rules.

Academic Calendar:
The term starts from June of every year. Students appear for their University exams yearly around May every year to complete their 4 years of degree course followed by 6 months of compulsory internship. 75% attendance is mandatory as per university rules.

Internship Program :
a)Internship -6 months duration focuses mainly on acquisition of specific skills in various domains of Physiotherapy like Musculoskeletal sciences,Neuroscience,Cardiorespiratory sciences and community physiotherapy.
b)Prog includes-rotational clinical assignments and conduction of scientific projects.
This will help in training of the candidate to plan strategies for cure and care,adopt preventive,restorative and rehabilitative measures for the patients.
