Early years of human life are highly sensitive. To educate children requires a sound understanding of their needs, their likes and dislikes and a deeper knowledge about how they grow and learn. Therefore the process of training teachers and to become perceptive about children is very important.
Training in Early Childhood Education will give a familiarity and understanding of the knowledge on which the field is founded. Early childhood education is an outcome of some of the foremost contributors from the nineteenth century such as Rousseau, Pestalozzi and Froebel; Montessori, Pratt, and Mitchell from the early twentieth century and the contributions from the field of Psychology by Freud, Erikson, Piaget and Skinner.
In addition, teacher trainees in the field should have knowledge of child development, health, psychology, sociology, education, art, music, dance, special education, and multicultural education because these fields affect young children and their families.
They should be familiar with learning theories such as discovery or exploratory play to design a developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children. They should be aware of various curriculum models and the ongoing research analyzing them.
Course Aim:
To empower the trainees to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that advances all areas of children's learning and development, including social, emotional, intellectual, and physical competence and establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with families.
Our aim is to bring about a transformation in the attitude of the teachers related to her professional functioning from being a task master to be a helper and from instructing to evoking.
Objectives:

To facilitate trainee teachers an understanding of the significance, scope and nature of education in early childhood years along with variations in all areas of Human Development

To acquire theoretical as well as practical knowledge of Early Childhood Education based on Child Development.

To enable trainee teachers to develop the attitudes, skills, insights and teaching strategies necessary to be able to work with young children and parents.

To acquaint with concepts, principles and approaches to curriculum planning and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that advances holistic development of the child.

To make the trainees understand nuances of classroom management.

To support the development and learning of individual children and recognize that children are best understood in the context of their family, culture, and society.

Eligibility:
