Executive Development Programmes on Biostatistics and Research Methodologies

This MDP is designed specifically for non-statisticians to develop skills in biostatistics needed to critically evaluate and analyze data and interpret results that ultimately drive policies and help make action-oriented decisions. Topics will include descriptive statistics, types of variables, concept of probability, sensitivity, specificity, and predictive value, normal and binomial distribution, confidence interval, relative risk, odds ratio, hypothesis testing between groups, Chi-Square, Fisher’s exact test, the Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney, Kruskal- Wallis tests and ANOVA. Research methodologies will include introduction to cohort and randomized studies, design and implementation of surveillance and clinical studies, monitoring, interim analysis, and reporting.
