There has been much said & written about the legal matters surrounding the land on which the Mumbai campus of Whistling Woods International (WWI) stands. There is speculation in a section of the populace, that Whistling Woods may not continue operations in its current location post July 2014. This is wholly untrue. As our chairman, Mr Subhash Ghai publicly said in 2012, "Educational institutions are not made by the land on which they stand, in fact it is the land that is enriched by the educational institution that stands on it. Whistling Woods will remain for a hundred years to come."

WWI is aggrieved by the Court Order and has filed a Review petition before the Bombay High Court seeking redressal on matters which we believe have been overlooked in the hearing. We are hopeful and expect a positive outcome of this review petition. However, while we hope for the best we are preparing ourselves for all contingencies. Mukta Arts the Company that owns WWI, owns real estate in Mumbai in Film City (outside of WWI Complex) and in Prime Mumbai locations including Andheri West opposite Yashraj Studios and Bandra West and has enough space to house all the existing facilities of the current campus. The educational operations of Whistling Woods International would relocate to one or more of these locations while continuing to have its primary base in Film City. Further, we have tied up with prestigious Universities in UK and Pune to commence operations soon in these centers. Whistling Woods is also building hybrid programs wherein students can undertake part of their education at any of these campuses and then transfer to the Mumbai campus to complete their education.

Given that Whistling Woods, in a short span of 6 years, has been recognized as one of the premier film & media institutions in Asia and has been recognized by The Hollywood Reporter as one of the Ten Best Film schools in the world, we will ensure that the highest standard of educational infrastructure are provided to students in whichever of our campuses they may study. We have tremendous support from our Technology Partners, Academic Partners, and above all – our faculty, which will ensure that the quality of education and the value addition to students will in no way be diluted.
