Prof Ujjwal K Chowdhury

Prof Chowdhury, an MA and M Phil in International Relations, and with a PG Diploma in Communication, had been a Ford Foundation Scholar, had worked in The Times of India group, Zee Telefilms, Business India Group, et al, before becoming the Director of Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Pune, and later Dean of the Symbiosis International University, apart from heading Media Education in NSHM, Kolkata, COMMITS, Bengaluru and ISB&M, Kolkata and Pune. He has worked as Media Advisor to the Textiles Ministry, Government of India, and The Nippon Foundation Chairman Yohei Sasakawa, the Goodwill Ambassador of World Health Organization. He is widely known for his Convergence approach to Media Education and has more than 1400 direct media students working in the industry. He is also the Managing Editor of New Global Indian (NGI) magazine and portal for the Indian Diaspora, with editions from Delhi, Dubai, and Trinidad.
