The PSM program in drums is a comprehensive approach based on well-researched teaching techniques. Our well rounded curriculum covers everything from basic musicianship, ear training, rhythm reading, to stick technique, and drum kit. Opportunities for performance development include recitals, and ensemble concerts. We offer London College of Music examinations at this time, we do adhere to the LCM curriculum, which ensures logical progression, and development. Many of our students also participate in their school band/orchestra, and we offer support and training to succeed in this area.
"It is recognized that concepts of syncopation and different time values are not inherent. Such concepts require development in a logical method. The exercises and pieces [in the LCM examinations handbook] are designed to aid that development. Rudiments are played using the drum kit which it is hoped will help candidates to relate to their use in a wider sense, and avoid the scenario of such disciplines being learn ‘just for the sake of an examination’, without any notion of their practical application, and consequently being forgotten almost instantly after the examinations."
"The progressive integration of the rudiments into the pieces as the examinations progress also aims to avoid this problem, and along with other technical requirements make this integration a worthwhile musical activity. The important technical and educational benefits of fundamental technique are thus gained in a positive and rewarding way."

Two Decades Of Music Education

'Philips School of Music' launched its activities in 1992 as an “Experimental Class for school Children", with 10 young children, Philip was one among them and studied music initially under his father 'Wilson Philips' - today PSM is a leading school in music education with 200 students on the rolls.
After extensive practical trials, the present music school has succeeded in compiling its own child friendly methods with the best in the industry, with an objective of uncovering student's potential and fostering their talents to express themselves freely by music.
Today we have developed into a broad system and" an examination Center / Studio for the prestigious exams of International Music Exam Boards" with many students and teachers at various locations in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Vizag, thousands of students have acquired qualifications from the school.
