Though the variety of sweets varies from place to place but the essential ingredients used are the same, that is, sugar, khoya, condensed milk, and ghee.

Traditional candies are also popular with Indian taste buds. It is a sumptuous dessert enjoyed by people across regions. Candies are sweets made of sugar mixed with fruits and nuts. Date candies, petha, and citrus candies are some of the varieties of candies found in India.

As people are getting health conscious, the demand for sugar free sweets is increasing. Sugar free sweets have the same taste as normal sweets. The consumption of these sweets helps you to satiate your taste buds without putting on extra weight and jeopardizing your health. Diabetics can consume sugar free sweets without worrying.

Traditional sweets are normally given to everyone in a standard gift pack. Now, a new trend of giving personalized sweets has emerged. Personalized sweets are those which are given in customized gift packs. Each pack will carry the name of the receiver, for whom it is meant, and the sender with a personal note. The concept of personalized sweets makes the receiver feel special. The practice of giving personalized sweets is widespread in organizations.

Traditional sweet recipes are easily available in cookbooks and cooking websites. You can easily follow the procedure mentioned in and learn how to make sweets at home. Alternatively, you can join sweet making classes meant for the beginners. Some of these classes also teach how to make traditional and authentic candies.
