Learning Outcomes

This refers to the skills and knowledge that you will have by the end of the course. They are divided along four domains:

1. Quantitative Business Methods:

• Know and understand how business statistical tools are used in finance and banking

• Know and understand the framework of accounting and the operational application within finance and banking

• Know how to use spreadsheets and financial calculator to support financial modeling

• Know and understand financial modeling techniques to support decision making

2. Global Economics:

• Understand the concept of globalization and its impact on business

• Understand how national economic policies influence and are affected by global changes and their potential impact on financial markets

• Understand the operations of global markets, movement of capital and global credit and debit situations

• Understand critical issues in financial globalization

• Understand the impact of globalization on the operations in financial services

3. Strategic Management and Marketing For Finance:

• Understand the operational management of financial goods and services institutions

• Understand the development of product and services within the financial sector

• Know how to strategically market financial goods and services

• Understand selected aspects of financial engineering and how these influence the development of products and services in the financial sector

4. Risk Management:

• Understand the financial product and services offerings risk matrix

• Understand and apply all aspects of financial services risk within an operational decision making structure

• Understand the relationship between financial regulations and risk within finance and banking sector

• Understand and develop abilities in modeling market risk within finance and banking

• Understand, develop and apply risk management strategies in different financial sector contexts

Teaching & Evaluation

Students will be given material to study at home. Classes will be dedicated to solving exercises and case studies based on study material.

Assessments will be done through four assignments, which will be given through the year on the areas of:

• Risk Management

• Global Economics

• Strategic Management & Marketing in Finance

• Quantitative Business Methods

Batch Schedule

This is a year long course with batches starting every quarter. There are two options for taking this course:

• Part Time Mode - Classes every weekend taught by industry faculty

• Flexible Mode - Contact Classes held once a month with assignments completed through self study
