About Advertising & how photography affects the viewers & their perception of the brands. How a truth can be enhanced within ethical limits.
3. Challenges for a advertising & commercial photographer.
Commercial & advertising photography is a process to create for the masses. Where one reaches and communicates with the people with its end result & help them choose a life they aspire. Therefore it is all about good teamwork, discipline, attitude, flexibility & adaptability as a creative visual person. It is a test of how one can innovate oneself at a crisis situation on a certain day or can put his foot down without a compromise on another certain day that would lead to only a better result & quality.
4. The specialization of understanding the requirement & the psyche of the client as well as the audience.
The photographer here is a specialist who understands the requirement & the psyche of the people he / she is working for as well as the target audience. He / she is about how one can deal with an idea that belongs to a clients or an advertising agency creative team, and reinterpret visually exactly as per expectation from them giving it his / her own individual & visual identity. An identity that is created by the conceptual & technical skill, through ones understanding towards the medium & practice.
5. Understanding basic requirement & infrastructure.
To give such result to cater to the requirement, what infrastructure does one photographer need? What is it that one should have up his/ her sleeve as owned equipment & support system & how one can hire a support when required beyond the basic photographers studio.
6. Understanding the business.
It is about true business & a business which needs to nurture like any other. About the process of learning & the process of growing. A step by step move from one stage to the other. The hardships & the glamour.
Course Content:
This course will be mostly totally practical & assignment based.
This will cover:
1. Shoot with models as per concepts. This will be both outdoors & studio.
2. Product shoot & product lighting techniques.
3. Food & still life conceptual shoots.
4. Analysis of different advertising photographers works & research based study on how different photographers develop their style.
5. Use of Photoshop techniques in advertising ( basic understanding)
Course Objective
This 12 class vocational course is designed to teach the aspiring photographer this aspect of photography which would also involve visiting studios and creating a portfolio.
Course Timings: Classes will be held two days a week over six weekends. Timings: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Course Start Date: Weekeends: 22nd February, 2014 (Saturday)
Course Fees
Rs.15,000 + Taxes as applicable
Notes
Students should have a DSLR camera.
