PhD programme was launched in 2000 by AIMA in collaboration with Aligarh Muslim University. The programme is divided in two phases – Foundation Phase and Research Work Phase. The Foundation Phase of the programme includes course work conducted by AIMA.
Foundation Phase
It comprises of first year of PhD and includes course work as given below. Module I and II constitute the first semester of the foundation phase. On completion of the foundation phase the students will be awarded “Advanced Diploma in Management” by AIMA-CME.
Research Phase
On successful completion of the Foundation Phase, the candidates are required to submit the present the research synopsis to the Research Committee at AMU. Candidates whose synopsis are approved by Research Committee will be registered for Doctoral Research work Phase which is of minimum two years duration. Admission to the Doctoral Research Work Phase is highly competitive. Candidates are given a maximum of two years duration. Candidates are given a maximum of two chances to get their synopsis approved by the Research Committee. On successful presentation of the final thesis, the candidates would be awarded the Doctorate Degree (PhD – Business Administration) by AMU.
Methodology
The course pack comprising of specially designed study guides, text books, reading material, assignments, etc. will be provided to each candidate. Workshop-cum-interactive classroom sessions of six and two days duration for semester I & II respectively will be conducted by AIMA in Delhi as a part of the foundation phase and all students are required to attend these sessions.

Work Experience
Minimum 5 years post qualification work experience in industry at the managerial level or a minimum 5 years of teaching experience as full time Faculty in a Management Institute approved by AICTE or affiliated to a University.
Admission Procedure
Candidates need to appear in Research Management Aptitude Test (R-MAT) to be held in May and December each year. Qualified candidates will be interviewed for final selection and admission.

AIMA (All India Management Association)

The All India Management Association (AIMA) was created as an apex body of professional management with active support of the Government of India and Industry in 1957.
