Our Metals Fundamental courses Details
There are 5 basic metals viz: gold, silver, rhodium, palladium white gold. White gold basically means yellow gold mixed with palladium. Platinum being expensive, white gold acts as a substitute. These metals come in pure and impure form. Purity can be identified by the carat weight of the metal.
24k, 23.5k, 23k, 22k, 20k, 18k, 14k, 10k, 8k and 6k defines the purity of a metal. 24k having the highest purity while 6k being the lowest. The price of these metals depends on its purity. It is hard to define the price just by the looks as jewellers try to mix impure and pure metals together and putting in the market as pure metal with highest karat weight.
Understanding the metal and its purity is necessary looking at the current market scenario. Many customers are duped as knowledge base about purity of a metal is less.
