9th Chord Music Academy
Girish Prabhu is the founder of the 9th Chord Music Academy. He is also the principal and chief instructor at the Academy. As mentioned elsewhere Girish, 27, is a highly self-motivated and inspired individual. Driven by his passion for contemporary music, his near obsession for guitar and writing songs, he gave up his brief but lucrative career in engineering abroad and returned to India to pursue his musical interests. After close to 5 years of performing on stage, several of those performances along with the Hindi rock outfit Zubaani – a band that was featured as the breakthrough artist on World Space Radio in mid 2007, he turned his attention to teaching. Ninthchord is his brainchild born out of a realization that there is a shortage of good music schools in the country where contemporary music and instruments are systematically taught. Girish is also an accomplished lyricist and vocalist, fronting two of the most prolific rock bands in Bangalore over the last 7 years. His stint with these bands produced a lot of original and engaging music in Hindi and English.
