About Us
Tendulkar’s Academy – one of Mumbai’s premier language academy, established in 1994 has been continuously striving to develop methods to make learning languages an easy task. Our educationist’s primary aim is to personalize the methods of teaching and adapt according to the pupil’s requirements. In a nutshell, we let you learn the language your way with our methods. English, as generally perceived, is not just for the elite any more; rather it has become a necessity for all of us if we are to face the world confidently.
English, as observed, is an obstacle not only for the marginally literate but also for the thoroughly literate. This phenomenon is evident especially in the population which completes the formal education in their mother tongue. This deprives them of the small joys like enjoying a nice poetry in English or a great career opportunity…in India or abroad.
In all these years we have educated a number of students and have gained immensely in the spectrum of developing and implementing various methods of teaching. Today we confidently tell you: ‘If you think you have a problem then we have a solution’.
Success is a process that requires putting in hard work in the correct direction. This is where you and we would work together to conquer. We make no false claims of making you proficient overnight. Here, we must understand that learning a language requires merging of efforts and scientific learning technique; of course, to improvement there are no bounds.
Today there is widespread unemployment in India. Found wanting in the ability to think and converse in English is one of the major reasons for losing an opportunity to a rival who is better equipped than you in this area. To overcome this hurdle, we believe that English should be taught at the grass root level ie in the early days of schooling. In today’s education system English is a subject and not a language; hence, it is not a shocker that the survey results state that almost 90% of the learned hesitate while conversing in English. These are the people who if only had learnt the language and not merely a subject would have faced the world with absolute confidence and not lost on the numerous opportunities that came their way. But as they say…Where there is a drawback, there is an opportunity.
Philosophically, we must emphasis on imparting this education to the students from vernacular medium schools, students from rural background with relatively limited exposure to the world and the unemployed youth. To facilitate this, we must see more number of education camps in the vacation periods and scientific language training institutes. I do not think that it is impossible to devote some time of the day to the purpose of learning English as a language. It is a matter of self discipline and an urge to excel. Most importantly, it is the moral responsibility of the parents and the teachers to wake up to the call of globalization and gear the children up with necessary cutting edge to face the challenges of the world. Mind well, we all see a lot of wasted talent and frustrated minds all around us and certainly do not want to add to it by our ignorance to recognise the importance of English, do we?
Believe us that 70% of our students are well educated in their formal discipline but lack the quality of effective communication. We not only teach them the language but also focus on their personality development. Remember, without effective implementation, knowledge loses its luster. Our aim is motivate everybody and bring out the best in them to help them conquer. This communication is a part of our ‘English for All-2009’ movement and we seek your co-operation in taking this movement to the every deprived or underprivileged student. |
