The word 'Grading' is usually applied to polished diamonds, where in finished goods are separated into a number of lots depending upon the size, shape, quality of cut, colour & clarity of the diamond, later to make them ready for exports or sale in the market. Person willing to enter into diamond business must have a thorough knowledge of grading. The trained personnel have a thorough knowledge of grading. The trained personnel have good job prospects with diamond exporters and jewellers. Those having experience of Rough diamond will be more suitable for this programme.

International Method of Grading:
4C's-Colour Grading, Clarity Grading, Grading for Cut & Carat, Weight according to local market demands and as per GIA Standards. Instruments used for assortment.

  • Formation of diamond - Constants and characteristics - Sources of diamonds

  • Knowing Rough diamonds - Procedure for converting Rough into Polished Diamond in brief

  • Instruments used for assortment

  • Learn International Method of Grading : 4 C’s - CLARITY, CUT, COLOUR and CARAT, WEIGHT.
    • CLARITY - Inclusions, blemishes, factors affecting clarity grading.
    • CUT - Enhanced knowledge about The Idle-cut diamond, proportions & symmetry factors.
    • COLOR - Color Grading (Shading).
    • CARAT, WEIGHT - Size divisions, weight estimation, use of guage and sieve.

  • Single Cut - Double Cut diamond & Identification of Fancy cirt diamond.
    Complete Assorting according to polishing grades, Selection - Rejection and Assortment Final with Accuracy.

  • Assortment procedure & EXPORTS.

  • Identification of Real diamond from American diamond, Latest simulants and synthetics.
