Whether for a hobby or an entry into the profession, acting and related theatrical activity undoubtedly is an overwhelmingly profound experience for the evolving human mind. From self-exploration and understanding the voice, mind and body, to understanding our space, time and the humans that we must interact with, rich benefits await the enthusiastic participant. Acting, as with the other departments of theater arts, helps nurture creative thought even while examining, accepting, questioning and adapting to the world we live in… an asset for effective leadership!
Sessions will include:
Self-exploration, Speech and voice development exercises, extempore speech, acting Improvisation, effective use of performing space, reader’s theater, Monologues, scene enactments, acting, presentations and performance.
Designed and conducted by:
Carl Mendes, the Founder and Artistic Director of Performers’ Platform has been involved with the Performing Arts for over three decades. His extensive work as Director and Designer, amongst other productions, includes the evergreen “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” (by arrangement with The Really Useful Group, UK.) “Once on a Friday” and the classic: “The Man of La Mancha.”
As playwright and producer, his repertoire includes numerous plays and musicals including Mumbai Masala, High School Blues, Once Upon another time, Open Sesame, The Circle of Life, around the world in 80 minutes and a host of one act plays.
His work also extends to corporate training workshops, theme events, product launches, designing, and theatrical production support.
His self- designed programmes “My Theater Arts”, “Life Skills through Theater Arts” and “Not Just Speech and Drama” have proved to be highly effective helping the growing mind on a journey of discovery and anticipation.
His latest venture “The Expressive Arts facility” in collaboration with St. Andrew H. School, Bandra aims to offer young minds an opportunity for exploration, creative thought and expression, honing skills towards mindful leadership.
