Ms. SALONI ASSIE

Pablo Picasso's line, "All children are born artists. The challenge is how to remain an artist once they grow up", scuccinctly sums up Saloni Assie's teachng Philosophy. Armed with a post graduate degree in law, she believes that educatin, especially art education has become too structured and straight - jacketed over the years. Extremely passionate about art and children, not necessarily in that order though, this co-founder of smart Potato has been conducting art and craft classes and workshop for over 14 years now. Several of her young students having won awards and going on to pursue higher studies in art architecture, graphic design etc. stand eloquent testimony to her deep conviction that children should be encouraged to explore, discover and create their own world. With an extensive background in working with students of all ages, a wide experience in fostering respect and discipline as well as creating and inciting interest in learning, she has developed a comprehensive art curriculum for children aged between 3 and 15 years covering lesson plans and course goals. Conceptualizing and organizing child art exhibitions, children's stage shows and competitions, she is the creative inspiration behind Smart Potato.
