Visharad-I (Bachelors Degree- Previous , B.F.A)

Theory

  • History of Indian Art:

    • Bengal School of Art.

    • Didarganj Yakshi, Amaravati Yakshas & Yakshinis.

    • Sanchi Stupas.

    • Kalpasutra Manuscripts.

    • Indian Folk Art.

    • Impact of Persian Art over Indian Art.

  • Indian Sculptures:

    • Mathura & Amaravati School of Art.

  • History of Western Art:

    • Impressionism: Claude Monet, Manet and any other 5 Artist.

    • Post: Impressionism

  • Aesthetics:

    • Detailed study of colours, Basic types, Nature of Colours, Tints, Tones and Shades of Colour. Emotional effect of Colours on human beings.

    • Define terms Rasa, Bhava, Modernity, Gestures, Posters, Stained glass and Folk Art.

Practical

  • Scale drawing: Plans and sections of simple furniture like - Chairs, Tables, Almirah, Beds etc. (Medium: Pencil or charcoal)

  • Designing furniture using all these simple, parallel and angular perspective of geometrical solids.

  • Book Covers: Size 25" x 30 cm.

  • Landscapes : Study of Nature ( Medium : Water or Oil Colour)

Theory Paper-I

  • Modern Art Movement.

  • Artists of 18th Century - Rococo, Blake, Chardin, Gainsborough, Hogarth.

  • Artists of the 17th Century - Poussin, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Franshals, El-Greco, Bellini.

  • Role of Michelangelo in Painting art.

  • Detailed study of these "Isms" : Surrealism, Cubism, Futurism. Their painting style and about the artists of that periods.

Theory Paper-II

  • Evolution of oil painting.

  • Difference between Western Art and Modern Art.

  • Concept of Beauty Based on Ancient scriptures.

  • Architecture of the Mughal period.

  • Define the terms - Balance, Shape, Space, Texture, Mosaic, Mudra, Realism, Perspective, Direction.

Practical

  • Portrait Painting: Drawing on the basis of study of anatomy.

  • Drawing of a model sitting before you. (Medium: Pastel, Pencil and Water)

  • Composition : (Realistic & Abstract) on any Social Cause.(Medium: Oil and Water).

  • Advertising : Letter head designing, Logo & Monograms.
