Infectious enthusiasm and humility. Creative composition. From taking a picture to making a picture. Technical perfection. Life and documentary, portraits, landscapes. The list can go on. Nitin Sir has brought out the best in me. One day I hope to achieve a fraction of all that he symbolizes.

Learning Photography from Nitin sir has been an eye-opener in many ways. Not only did he teach us the technicalities of using a digital camera optimally but widened my vision of creating a picture tremendously He introduced many new perspectives and mentored us skillfully and patiently. It would be fair to say that he has rewritten the rules of photography for me!

I have been doing amateur photography since the past 30 years, but Nitin Sir has helped me to reinvent my concept of photography. After doing the course I have learnt to appreciate and understand good photography. Nitin Sir is one of the very best in his field and yet he is very humble. It has been an honor to be his student.

Advance Advertising & Commercial Photography Course

For me, photography started as a hobby but over a period of time I have taken up photography as a serious topic to learn and master. Thanks to my teacher Mr. Nitin Rai; I am now aware of the enormous possibilities that photography has.The time spent at RRCFP has enabled me to look at the creative aspect of life all around me. The viewfinder does limits my vision to two dimensions but the knowledge of a rear picture being present right in front of me, motivates me to capture my best shot each time I press the shutter button.Photography for me is now a quest to find an answer to the question “god created nature, human created cameras, what did I add?”

He is a perfect teacher , guide, friend and moreover a good human . I respect u sir. One more person i want to thank – SHIPRA mam she was the one who was always there with me discussing about my concept, prop, makeup for the shoots. I really want to thank u, mam.

Basic Beginners Photography Course – Batch II

In the beginning when we started to learn photography having joined the Basic Batch II, a phrase we heard repeatedly was “we will open your vision…”
At the end, I see light everywhere – in people, in nature, in food – in shades of black and white and in those kaleidoscopic rampage of colors…in shadows, in burns and in dodges….
Teachers Nitin Rai, Kshipra Simon, Sandy Bro’ – you rekindled the mind to our most precious gift – our lives in humanity….and now there is so much more to learn to appreciate and care for human beings above all learn to laugh and spread laughter ! My Step One to learning photography at RRCfP ends with having lit up my mind with freedom of thought !
And my hunger for more starts with joining the One Year Course !!

“Fun filled journey for creativity” is how I would define my experience at RRCFP. Finding beauty in everything around is what RRCFP instills in the students.”

“First and foremost I would like to thank Madhu didi for pushing me and introducing me to the family of RRCFP.

What can I say, I have no words to describe of how I feel. My journey so far with RRCFP has been a magical transformation of my ability to take pictures. My vision, passion & love for photography has become way more focused & stronger.

My GURU – Nitin Sir, has opened my eyes to a whole new world of photography and not only that, his teachings has made me look at people with a different perspective. From having a fondness in clicking just plain nature & landscapes I have found greater interest in clicking the life around me, people their lovely expressions, their happiness, their sadness and everything about them.

I would like to thank everyone at the centre, Nitin Sir for being my guru, Kshipra for bearing with us and helping us at every step of our learning, Sandeep Bhaiya no one could teach editing better than you, Harish Bhai for feeding us endlessly with some awesome food.

Thank you everyone for making me a part of the RRCFP family and I would like to be one forever.”

Basic Beginners Photography Course- Batch II

RRCFP to me is like a paradise for photographers where I learnt the basic tools of photography.

Apart from improving my basic skills with the camera the most important take away from this course is the induction of life and documentary in my photography style.

As far as my teachers are concerned Nitin Sir (words are not enough to delineate his talent) is extremely cooperative, motivating and above all a very patient listener and a down to earth person. The biggest lesson from Nitin Sir which I learned was to capture expressions meticulously. He advised me to keep becoming a better photographer by each passing day.

Kshipra is livewire, extremely talented and helpful too. She was extremely patient with listening to our endless questions and giving her suggestions. Her positive energy and her selfless interest in our work made us bother her all the time

One of my dreams of meeting Raghu Sir too came true during this course and the few short interactions with him too opened my vision a lot

A special word of thanks for Sandeep Bhaiya for giving us Photoshop lessons and Harish Bhaiya for his wonderful culinary skills which made the canteen an extended classroom

The basic course has made me a better student of photography (In fact I believe this is the best basic course available) and now I plan to pursue a professional course with the esteemed teachers and move towards becoming a better photographer.

Advance Fashion and Commercial Photography Course- Batch II

I came to know about RRCFP sometime earlier in the year and knowing that the institution is run by two most eminent photographers of this era – Mr. Raghu Rai and his son Mr. Nitin Rai, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that I would like to learn more on photography from the very best and was on the lookout for an appropriate course.

The commercial world of photography has always intrigued me and the moment I saw the announcement of advanced fashion and advertising course, I decided this is it. Before enrolling myself, I went to the institute to have a short meeting with Mr. Nitin Rai with a small portfolio of the work I had done thus far. He met me, looked at the pictures I was carrying and said – the pictures are nice, but they are not “wow” and when you learn from here, we will help you open up your vision and improve your photography skills which will translate the pictures you click to being “wow”.

Within no time, I enrolled myself for the course and as the course proceeded, I could clearly understand and distinguish between what makes a picture ordinary versus a “wow”.

The teachings imparted by Nitin Sir, the advise and mentoring provided by Raghu Sir are invaluable to me and I sincerely hope that I am able to apply those in any photography assignment I undertake and live up to their expectations and not become another run of the mill photographer. So Thank you Raghu and Nitin Sir for all the knowledge you have imparted and your blessings and good wishes.

I would also like to Thank the other members of the RRCFP institute: Kshipra Simon – being a successful professional photographer herself, she has always assisted and supported us whenever we struggled to put in practice any of the learnings on our assignments, she has also been very open and agreed to be our model whenever we asked her to do so – Thank you Kshipra for bearing with us during some of our studio shoots. Sandeep Bhaiya – it is because of you, I feel confident to use Photoshop – Thank you for teaching us the tricks of the trade with editing. Harish – for meeting our the never ending demands of food, tea & coffee and treating us to some finger licking meals. And not to forget the three adorable dogs – Brownie, Bagira and Laila.

RRCFP is now like an extended family and I would like to remain part of this family forever.

Nabarun Mookerjee
1 Year Diploma In Creative Photography Batch2012-2013In the fast-paced materialistic modern life of our time, as we are losing connect with Nature, our Spiritual-self and true understanding of Art; Raghu Rai Centre for Photography are one of the few oases of peace and harmony where in the cradle of mother-nature one can rediscover the beauty of Life and learn Photography in its purest form. The centre is analogous to Shantiniketan, set up by Rabindranath Tagore, as an abode of learning in the midst of nature. It was a foggy wintry morning that I first stepped into the centre. As I walked down the tree-lined pathway leading to the beautifully designed centre building, taking in slowly the moist scent of dew-drenched grass and chirping of birds, I realised my learning process has already started. What came next over the few months at the centre was a great experience and something I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I will be ever-grateful to the Force which brought me to this place where I received the knowledge and blessings from my Gurus, Raghu Sir and Nitin Sir. Apart from providing me with a strong technical base, their guidance helped me look beyond the clichés of ‘beautiful’ and ‘pretty’ images, and understand where the ‘soul’ of a photograph truly lies. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the other members of the faculty and team without whom my experience would have been incomplete.

For anyone who is interested, in learning the art of photography in its unadulterated form or contemplating a career in the field, should definitely consider spending sometime at the centre.

Wishing the very best.

My experience

It was truly an enriching, enlivened experience for me to learn the basics of photography at RRCFP. My vision has widened so much that I am much more aware of the images that surround me ,as if a third eye has opened. Never encountered a more down to earth , friendly and always ready to help and guide, teacher than Respected and Dear Nitin Sir. Also many thanks to Rohit Sir and Kshipra maam for bearing with me always. Feelings and thoughts are most difficult to express in words, so till we reach a world where appreciation and gratitude could be put in words, a big’ THANK YOU’, will have to do. A keen lover of fine arts, I hope I am able to do justice to this art form and able to come back time and again to this dear family I found in RRCFP.,

Luscious green farm around,

To me, the memories now surround,

On this road of images, I wont take long,

Heading with my camera, to where I belong.

Basic Beginners Photography Course Batch III

Indeed it was a pleasure to be on the batch. I am glad I joined RRCFP. I am spellbound by the love and attention that I have received from each faculty member of RRCFP. Only after joining the RRCFP, the basics got so much clear and I can share the same vision with my fellow photographers. The practical class after every lesson was an ultimate hit.

I am already missing the classes, the learning and fun loving sessions we had.
