The School is focusing to create and develop a pool of qualified scientific talent who will fulfill the needs of premier research organisations as well as the demands in an industry setting. Thus the program ensures employability, addresses global demands and community development.

At the SOS, we offer unique multi- as well as interdisciplinary programs, viz, Post graduate program in Statistics; Postgraduate and Integrated Postgraduate-Doctoral program in Biological Sciences and Chemical Sciences and a Doctoral program in Biological Sciences and Chemical Sciences.

We invite visiting faculty from research institutions and from industry, whereby the students get the firsthand information as regards current trends in research and the scenario in various industries. We also encourage students to undergo summer training at various research institutions and in public/private sector undertakings.

Placement Update Summary as of 1st May 2013

 

A) M.Sc. Statistics Year II

• One student, Mr. Anuj Saxena, has secured admission at foreign university for further study.
• One student, Mr. Ramesh Tripathi, got selected at IMS Health an MNC in “sector “Healthcare Consulting”.
• Two students, Mr. Sushant Patra and Ms. Aarti Dasake, got selected at Willis an MNC in “Reinsurance”.

B) M.Sc. Statistics Year I

• One student Mr. Aditya Iyer has got summer placement offer in ICICI Bank.
• Four students viz., Ms. Khushboo Dedhia, Ms. Krutika Salian, Ms. Pooja Kotian and Mr. Priyank Ipte got summer placements at RBI.
• One student Ms. Bhargavi Gajeli got summer placement offer in Rediffusion-Wunderman.
• Two students, Mr. Chinmay and Mr. Vidysagar got summer placement offers at Serco.
• One student, Ms. Mitali Chotrani, got summer placement offer in an actuarial firm.
• Four students, Ms. Shobhna Nadar, Ms. Ruhama Ahale, Mr. Sagar and Ms. Sufiyan Shaikh, have got placement to Meteorological Dept. for summer training.

C) M.Sc. Biological Sciences Year I

All seven students got summer placements. Details are as follows:
• Two students, Ms. Shaleen Multani and Ms. Trupti Shetty, got summer placements at Reliance Life Sciences
• Two students, Ms. Pooja Bamgude and Ms. Shaina Khan got summer placements at FMR
• Two students, Mr. Yuvraj Kantak and Ms. Priyanka Andrade got summer placements at IPCA laboratories.
• One student, Ms. Swati Sahoo, got Summer placement at NIRRH
