SVKM's NMiMS - School of Business Management

Research

Management as an academic discipline is continuously evolving. Changing business environment and economic realities necessitate that academia responds to these changes with new knowledge created through innovation and research. This creation of new knowledge cannot be achieved without nurturing excellent research capabilities. Keeping this in view, to give focus to the research activities, NMIMS University set up a Research and Publication Cell.

Doctoral Program in Management Studies

With the academic year 2004- 05, NMIMS launched its doctoral Program in the core discipline of management, leading to a Ph.D. in Management Studies. The main objective of the Program is to prepare a cadre for academic positions involving both research and teaching, as well as for careers in business, government and regulatory bodies and non-government agencies. This doctoral Program is viewed as a big leap forward from ‘disseminating and imparting knowledge’ to ‘creation of knowledge’.

Currently, there are 72 scholars pursuing their Doctoral Studies at the School of Business management.

Funding Support for Faculty Research

As in the past, NMIMS continues to nurture and support research efforts of the faculty, both financially and otherwise. Both the quality of teaching and teaching material can improve and better relate to the realities of the work place, with the faculty’s active involvement in research. The final report is subjected to a double blind refereeing process, and the faculty is then required to present the same at a seminar at NMIMS.

Need-based Focused Workshops
