Child group classes that introduce children to the basic concepts of music by engaging their mind and body through singing, chanting, dance, movement, drama and the playing of melodic and percussive instruments (i.e. xylophones, glockenspiels, claves (clah-veh), shakers, woodblocks, Chinese bells, cowbells, recorders, bongos, djembe, etc) with an emphasis on how fun music is.

Lessons are presented with an element of "play" helping the children learn at their own level of understanding.

Children will learn all the basic components of music and develop good musical ears; be able to detect changes in pitch (high/low), rhythm (long/short), tempo (slow/fast), dynamics (soft/loud), mood/character, form and style. They learn about rhythm, melody, harmony, texture, and form; by observation imitation, memory & repetition.

They learn as a group so social interaction and cooperation is fostered.
