The Lacadives team are a diverse and multifaceted collection of individuals with two things in common…we dive because we’re passionately in love with the sea, and we do everything we can to help conserve this wondrous liquid world. Beyond our numerous certifications with PADI, CMAS and DAN, here is a little introduction to the Lacadives team.

Sumer Verma & Umeed Mistry:

The working partners of Lacadives, Sumer (CMAS Course Director #INDXM310000080) and Umeed (PADI Staff Instructor #473455) have been diving the waters of India for the last 17 years and are two of the most experienced dive instructors & underwater photographers in the country. Their underwater imagery has earned them many national and international awards, and their work has appeared in a number of magazines, books and a variety of education material. They are both passionate educators who are constantly striving to increase awareness about the beauty and fragility of the underwater world, whether by teaching diving and photography, or conducting awareness programs in schools. Dividing their time between the Andaman Islands, the Lakshadweep Islands and their photo assignments, Sumer and Umeed have done more than 12,000 dives in these waters. In-tune and completely besotted by the wonders of the sea, they are a pleasure to dive and learn with.

Rohin Unvalla:

Rohin (PADI OWSI#306622) is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, with specialty Instructor rating in Night, Deep, Drift, Wreck, Multilevel and Computer diving. He has been a Lacadives team member since November 2010. A former salsa instructor in Bangalore, Rohin soon discovered that his real passion lay under the sea. Totally committed to diving, Rohin is now part of our elite Instructor team, happiest meeting interesting people, teaching them to dive and sharing with them his professional skills.

Leon De Nazareth:

An adrenalin junkie, adventure sports enthusiasts and ex ad-man who got hooked on the deep blue waters of the Andaman Sea. Leon (PADI OWSI#306623) is a passionate and hardworking instructor who makes sure you are ready for that out-of-the-world, underwater experience. He is fondly known as Arnold, and is a self-proclaimed whistler. So if you’re wondering why you can’t get that song out of your head, you know whom to blame.

Hayat Sadri:

Hayat has been a member of the enthusiastic support team at Lacadives since June 2011 and an avid diver since 2008. As with most of Lacadives’ multi-skilled personnel, Hayat was also a music teacher at the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation in Mumbai till December 2012. In May 2013 she acquired her dive Instructor license and is now a proud PADI Instructor (PADI OWSI #324598). Fun loving and passionate about all creatures land or sea, she shares the Lacadives team-mission to bring people closer to the thrills of scuba diving.

Sidharth Muralidharan:

Sidharth joined the Lacadives dive team as a trainee in 2011 after quitting a career in advertising. He is now an Instructor (PADI OWSI #323255) with the team specializing in Deep, Night, Fish Identification, Shark conservation and Wreck diving. Diver by day and closeted guitarist by night, the faint strumming heard during obscure hours at our dive center is probably his doing. Passionate, dedicated and driven to a fault, he will go above and beyond to ensure your experience with us is an unforgettable one.
